There is a faint trail through the desert landscape. What little plant life there is shows little hope for long-term survival. As for the path itself, it seems to have been used recently, though attempts have been made to hide that fact.
The trail starts to widen here, where less effort has been made to hide the recent traffic.
From the east, the sounds of men at work drift through the shifting sands. Looking towards its source, one finds the way partially blocked by what is either a large stone statue or a small mountain. The form is somewhat humanoid when studied carefully. However, no human ever stood as tall as this.
The sand has been worn to a rough path here behind the statue. In fact, apparent cart tracks stop abruptly at the statue's "heels" and lead off to the east. It is impossible to say how the carts entered the stone.
The path is mostly obscured by shifting sand dunes. Whether this was done by man or nature is impossible to say.
The path veers north and west from here. To the east is a large tent at the edge of the encampment. From within comes the sound of soft snoring.
The campsite is overflowing with digging equipment, tents, carts, buckets, and crates. It is hard to make sense out of the random array and easy to get lost.

The tent is a lot bigger than it looked from the outside. In addition to a bed, desk, chair and assorted tables, the tent contains the source of the soft snoring. At the rear of the tent lies a black dragon, dozing lazily.

Comparing this clean path to the campsite makes one wonder if they were built by the same people. There are footprints leading north and south.
The trail continues both north and south, with numerous sets of footprints leading in each direction.

The footprints blend at this point to form a common area. To the east is what appears to be a well of some sort. To the south is a large shabby tent.
Looks can be deceiving. The inside of this tent is well organized with various boxes and crates stacked against the walls. One such crate is open and reveals several artifacts taken from the dig site. In addition, in the back corner, there are 3 iron chests, chained and locked.

When the camp was first built, this tent was probably intended to store the various tools used to dig. However, as seen outside, tools are in disarray throughout the camp...including here.
This is the top of a shaft dug into the dirt. It extends down beyond the range of any light source. To the west is a path leading toward the campsite.

The walls of the hewn shaft are loose dirt and sand, making them impossible to climb. Luckily, someone has thought to anchor rungs into one side.

The rungs in the wall here stop abruptly well above the bottom of the shaft. Though it might not be too bad a fall, it seems unlikely to be able to climb back up this way.

Unlike the chapel, this room gleams with gold and mithril accents throughout. On the west wall is a large window overlooking Daleville and affording ample lighting for the over-sized bathtub beneath it. On the south wall are two wash basins carved from marble and gleaming brightly. On the north wall is an assortment of bathroom linens, including a white washcloth, interwoven with gold threads, and embroidered with a script N in one corner.
This room glows softly with a divine light showing the vaulted ceiling, stained glass windows, and marble altar. Furnishings include a comfortable sofa, several sturdy oak chairs, and a large granite-topped desk on the east wall. The west wall is filled with remembrances of mortal life, including a shining sword, a golden shield, and a beautiful red rose, alone in a crystal vase. Throughout the rest of the chamber you see papers, blueprints, and odd artifacts...all indicative of a god at work. Lastly, as you peer into a slightly darkened alcove, you see a small tree, a petite owl perched within it.
