The Sea

The sea is a dark blue as its waters plunge downward. The water is very calm here. You can see land on the horizon to the north but in every other direction you see trackless water. The water is quite cool here and very clear.

The Sea

Small bubbles rise to the surface here coming from something deep under water. A small flock of gulls fly overhead diving now and then for fish and to rest on the large kelp mass floating on the surface. The air smells quite fishy here. You can see land far away on the northern horizon.

The Sea

The water is getting much rougher here. White caps crash and the water swirls, though there is almost no wind; what could be causing the crashing waves is anyone's guess. Westward the sea heaves and boils even more wildly. Seagulls can be heard to the south, where the water seems calmer, and the open sea runs on to the east.

The Sea

The water crashes and bubbles boil to the surface here. The white caps are over eight feet tall, and the sea stinks of rotting fish. A huge shape can be vaguely seen under the surface, and you feel a sense of dread that something is coming: something very big and very terrible. Far below, through the churning water, the pale edge of a coral reef can be made out. The open sea rolls away to the east and to the south.

The Sea

There is a huge water spider here. Somehow she stands on the surface of the water. She is about the size of a small inn and doesn't even seem to notice you. Hairy legs spread wide she begins to bob up and down rapidly. You can barely make out land far on the northern horizon.

In the Spider's bubble

Suddenly the spider runs across the water and stops directly over you! She then begins to lift up as high as she can on her long hairy legs then plunges down under the surface of the water. A large bubble is formed surrounding you and the spider. Two of her back legs stick out of the bubble above you and she begins moving them in a rapid motion. The bubble sinks deeper under the surface.

In the Spider's bubble

The bubble sinks lower and lower into the clear water. The spider doesn't seem concerned about you so far. You peer out of the bubble and see the bottom far below. Northward, a large wrecked ship lies on the sea floor, and small forms can be seen moving in and out of it; beyond the wreck rises a great reef. Small schools of fish flash as they dart about.

Bottom

The spider's bubble comes to rest at the bottom of the sea. Sea weed clings to the sides of the bubble threatening to pop it. There is a small cave to the north almost completely hidden by weeds. The spider crawls out of the bubble and swims into this cave into the darkness. The bubble shivers and shakes. It seems it's going to rise back up to the surface now with you in it unless you follow the spider.

Water Filled Cave

This water filled cave is very dark. Cool water swirls around you making it hard to see very far. The cave doesn't go very far into the rock but turns up into what appears to be a small air pocket.

Entrance to the Lair

It appears that the spider uses this room to store her victims. Then she returns to eat them later. Several gulls and otters and even a few sea elves are wrapped in webs here. Dried husks lie here also. Bones and hair litter the ground. There is a small hole filled with water that leads down into the water filled cave and a large webbed passage to the west.

The Water Spider's Lair

Water drips from the ceiling and down the walls of the large cave to be absorbed by the webby nest that fills the entire room. Egg sacs the size of sea chests sit in the corner with hand-sized hatchling baby giant water spiders crawling all over them. In the far corner of the cave opposite the egg sacks rests what appears to be a humanoid figure wrapped completely in webbing. It seems to be fully armored beneath the webs. There are webby passages leading east and north.

Back of the Cave

The cave is very cramped and water drips down the walls and ceiling. There is a large hole in the floor that leads down to a water filled passage. A webbed lined passage leads south into darkness. Several large kelp leaves lie rotting on the floor of this cave. Small crabs crawl from hole to the kelp and back again.

Cave mouth

The water here is fairly clear and light from outside makes it possible to see. A lobster has made his home under a large rock here and crabs and small plants cling to the walls and floor of the cave mouth. There is a small hole leading up into an air pocket and the cave opens up to a kelp forest to the north.

Kelp forest

The kelp here is very tall, reaching over twenty feet to the sun above the surface of the water. The leaves are nearly the length of a longsword and as wide as a good sized dwarf. Schools of fish dart in and out of the stalks looking for food. The kelp forest extends in every direction: the sandbar lies north, a cave mouth south, and high in the stalks overhead a small hut has been woven into the kelp.

Sandbar

Several giant oysters slam shut at your arrival. They sit on a long sand bar that stretches off several hundred yards to the east and west. Some clown fish dart in and out of the oysters and conch shells. A hermit crab has made his home within a very pretty shell that sits just to the side of the largest oyster you have ever seen. A large dark shape blocks out the light to the northeast. It appears to be a very large wrecked ship or galleon. A large hole gapes like an open mouth in the bottom of the wreck.

Outside the Wrecked Ship

Now that you are closer to the ship you see that the hole almost seems to have been made by large jaws! A few arrowhead shaped teeth are still stuck in its hull. The water is a bit cooler here and something very large must have swam by here recently from all the sand and silt that billows in clouds around you.

Kelp forest

A giant sea horse is swimming in and out of the kelp stalks. His elegant tail curls and uncurls in the soft motion of the kelp. The water is fairly warm here and light filters down between the kelp leaves illuminating the sand below.

Kelp forest

The kelp waves back and forth with your movement, tickling you as you pass by. A fish bigger than you are swims past. Its dull gray scales the size of your hand. The fish stops, turns and comes eye to eye with you then swims past only to return a bit later and look at you again.

Aquallia Reception

The reception is filled with a soft blue light that seems to come from the very walls of the room. Tridents, the shells of giant sea creatures, and treasures taken from sunken ships are on display throughout the room. A desk of coral that seems to have grown from the floor sits against the west wall.

Coral Drive

Coral Drive ends here between two large coral pillars. Looking up you can see the hull of a large vessel plowing through the waves far above you, and you wonder if anyone up there would think that there is a bustling city directly below. Coral Drive continues to the west, the East Entrance to the city is to the south, and a shabby tavern stands to the east.

Inside the Palace

This grand room is the reception chamber of the Palace. Several small, glowing orbs float near the ceiling, providing the room with light. A small room that appears to be a guard post can be seen through the archway to the east and a dark hall leads west. The palace gates to the south lead to the Palace Avenue.

Grand Hallway

This long hallway is made of black coral with pink spirals running through it. The walls and floor are very glossy but the ceiling appears quite rough. There is a guard room to the east and an air-filled chamber to the west. The hallway continues to run north and the Entrance to the castle is south.

Grand Hallway

The water seems to be very warm here, making it very comfortable. There are small statues along both walls down the hallway. Archways east and west lead to other rooms in the palace. Tall pillars of coral rise up to the ceiling, where small glowing orbs light the hallway. The hallway runs north and south.

Grand Hallway

The black coral walls are decorated with beautiful pink swirls, depictive of sea elven art. Large tapestries are draped on either side of the hallway. Murals of the royal family hang between the tapestries. Above the archway to the west is a shield bearing a holy symbol. An archway to the east leads into the chapel. The grand hallway continues north and south.

Grand Hallway

The hallway ends here and a red carpet begins, travelling all the way into the throne room to the north. The glowing orbs along the ceiling seem to dim closer to the throne room. Archways leading west and east lead into guard rooms where the royal family's personal guards reside. The hallway leads north into the throne room and south to the palace gates.

The Throne Room

This grand throne room is where the Sea Elf Queen rules over her aquatic kingdom. Royal standards and coats of arms of all the families that have ruled this kingdom throughout history hang on the walls. Guards in the shiny decorated armor of the Royal Guard stand at attention at each entrance. Pillars of translucent coral rise to the ceiling every 10 feet from the southern entrance to the wall behind the throne. Long, rainbow-colored stairs lead to the dais upon which the royal thrones sit. The throne is inlaid with diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and many unknown gems.

Queen's Bedroom

This large, elegantly furnished bedroom was decorated by the Queen herself. The room is dominated by a magnificent four-post bed made of coral and canopied with softly glowing seaweed. Against the north and south walls are a matching dresser and night stand set made of polished obsidian. Beautifully polished shells and coral statuettes are spread throughout the room in wonderful display.

King's Bedroom

This bedroom, used by every king to sit upon the throne of Aquallia, has been all but destroyed in a recent struggle. The grand bed has been utterly demolished by what seems to have been one crushing blow. Every piece of furniture lies in fragments and the priceless and cherished artwork are strewn across the room in complete ruin.

Sandbar

The sand bar continues past the wrecked ship here. Several more oysters slap shut as you pass by throwing up clouds of sand and silt. The bar ends here at the mouth of a large cave. Its entrance is almost completely covered by kelp.

Giant Shark's Lair

This cave is very large and fairly clean. The water here is cool and always fresh from the currents that are quite swift through this cave. The floor is covered in a layer of shells and smooth round pebbles and stones. The only exit is back to the Sandbar to the west.

Inside the ship's hull

The ship's planks and timbers appear to be in fairly good shape. The heavily tarred wood preserving it through the years. There is an open doorway to the north. A large archway to the west and a small hallway leading east. A gaping hole to the south permits exit or entrance to the ship from the Sandbar. A small stairway leads up to the deck of the ship above.

Inside the bow of the ship

The room was used for the storage of large cargo and livestock at one time. Several large wagons slowly disintegrate in the murky water here. Small fish swim in and out of wagon wheels and windows of a carriage. Rusting chain sits in a pile along with a huge anchor. A few elven sailors have lost their lives here when the ship sank with them trapped inside. There is an archway to the east leading to the main part of the ship.

Crew Quarters

Smashed and broken tables, sea chests and bunks lie toppled and broken all over the floor. This is where the bulk of the crew lived and slept when they were off duty. A few skeletons litter the floor. An empty skull now serves as a home to a hermit crab. The only exit is an open doorway to the south leading to the main part of the ship.

Passage

This long hallway runs through the center of the ship. There is a doorless doorway to the east through which a large shape can be seen moving about. To the south a heavy wooden door with a barred metal window can be seen. Another open doorway allows access to what appears to be a small storage or supply room.

Storage

Rotting ropes float about the room. Extra tarred timbers and barrels of lamp oil lie in neat stacks, and several chests that hold what is left of a few spare sails lie open and waterlogged. A small porthole looks out on the reef beyond the ship's side. There is an open doorway to the south.

The Brig

This room once served as the ship's brig. A pile of bones rests half buried in sand beneath some rotting shackles fixed to the far wall, and a few other skeletons litter the floor. It seems the prisoners who were here when the ship went down drowned in their prison. A heavy door with a barred window leads back north into the passage.

Cargo

This is where the ship's cargo is stored. Several large chests wrapped in chains rest on the floor. Shelves and wine casks line the walls; most of the casks have been opened or have leaked their contents into the surrounding water. A large eel slips out through a broken porthole as you enter. There is a hallway to the west.

Main deck

You are swimming above the main deck of the wrecked ship. Beyond the bow rises a large coral reef, where several dolphins swim about with a few sea elves. The broken main mast of the ship spears up towards the surface, its crow's nest long broken and gone, and a waterlogged rope rests coiled around its base. The bow of the ship is to the west, a small doorway leads east to what must be the Captain's Quarters, a small staircase climbs up to the helm and a hatch leads down into the hull.

Bow of The Wreck

This was the bow of this once mighty galleon. Its once tall and proud masts rise into the water above you. A school of fish swim around you. They are long and slender with small spikes atop their dorsal fins. A large coral reef can be seen to the north and the main deck can be accessed to the east.

Captain's Quarters

This was once a nicely furnished cabin. A large bed rests against the east wall below now panelless windows. A rotted wooden dresser and vanity sits against the north wall. There is a small doorway to the west that leads to the main deck of the ship.

Helm

The helm of the ship is where this mighty vessel was steered into grand ports and around deadly reefs. The old wheel is still in good shape. A large archway leads east to the mess hall, and two identical looking doorways open to the west and to the south. A small staircase leads back down to the main deck.

Guest's Quarters

Wealthy passengers who bought passage on the ship would spend their days of travel here or on the deck in the sun. A fair sized bed lies broken against the far wall under a small porthole. A medium sized sea chest used to store the passenger's belongings lies open and empty at the foot of the bed. A small open doorway leads east to the helm.

Guest's Quarters

A giant crab has made these once furnished quarters into its home. Sand and pebbles form a large nest in the center of the room. The furniture and smashed chest have been broken up and worked into its nest. A few bones and empty shells lie in the corner. There is a doorway to the north.

Mess Hall

The mess hall was once where all the crew came to eat and talk about their future trade routes. A large oaken table spans the length of the room. Many broken and collapsed chairs lie about the room. Broken ceramic plates and goblets litter the table and floor. A few glints of bright silverware can be seen from underneath chairs and platters. The helm of the ship is to the west.

A Coral Reef

You are swimming about twenty feet above the bottom. Small fish and other animal life can be seen from this vantage point. The great coral reef of Aquallia begins just east of here, and a large wrecked galleon lies to the south. The water is warm and pleasant, and sunlight filters down from above, where a way leads up toward the shore.

Edge of the Coral Reef

This is the edge of a large coral reef. In this reef the sea elves have built the fabled city of Aquallia, and its southern entrance lies just to the north. A few crabs and fish dart about the edge of the reef, and to the west the reef falls away above the hulk of a wreck. Overhead the water grows rough and dark, churned by something moving near the surface.

South Entrance to Aquallia

You stand at the southern entrance to Aquallia. The water and swimming creatures under the surface make gates useless here so the entrance is free of any defense like structures. The sea elves must have little to fear from their enemies to have such an open city. The Central Square can be seen to the north.

Central Square

The Central Square is more of a large flattened area in the reef on the Dolphin Way that serves as a main street to Aquallia. Sea Elves and their dolphin companions swim here and there, going about their normal duties. A few shops and other places of business have been built into small reef buildings. The grocer and general store is to the west. Magical shops and armor and weapon shops line the east side of Dolphin Way. The Royal Palace is a large coral structure and can be seen a ways to the northwest.

Dolphin Way

You are swimming along the Dolphin Way. Central Square is directly to the east. There is a small grocer to the north and a general store to the south. Dolphin Way continues east and west.

Dolphin Way

Dolphin Way rises up a bit here around a large up thrust of rock through the reef then continues east and west. You can see the Royal Palace and ways to the north. Central Square is to the east.

Dolphin Way

The avenue ends here at the foot of a large well lit cave. A few young swim down to the mouth of the cave and push through a shield like force at the mouth of the cave. The shield seems to hold a pocket of air inside this cave to the west. There is a guard barracks to the south and a small building to the north.

The Club House

This is where a lot of the elven folk come to talk about their daily activities and adventures. There are small tables and chairs about the room and a long coral bar spanning the north wall. Patrons sit on stools and chat about various things. From time to time you catch various tidbits of information and gossip.

Barracks

The sea elves have set aside this small building as a guard post to protect the city. The air here is quite fresh, not what you'd expect. Some magical power must be at work here to keep the air breathable and pleasant. Several racks of weapons and extra shields are mounted on the wall. A few cots rest in the corner for the guards who are off duty to rest and spend time. The only exit is to the north.

Palace Avenue

The avenue, made of glittering, jet black sand, ends here at the majestic Palace of the Sea Elves. The Palace stands to the north, its graceful coral spires and towers rising up in tight spirals. The gates are made of a mother of pearl that is almost transparent. The walls of the palace are sparkling, flawless black coral with pink spirals. The Avenue runs east to the Inn and Dolphin Way can be seen to the south.

Sea food Rationing

The finest sea foods in all the realms are available here. Who else would know sea food better than sea elves? Lobster and crab cooked to perfection are available for purchase. As are lightly spiced dried kelp and fresh shark meat. The prices are fair and the food is divine.

General Store

Miscellaneous equipment may be purchased here. Items include kelp rope and water tight lanterns, water tight scroll cases and mesh bags. There is a large counter behind which a large sea elf with a gold tooth mumbles something about you not drying off before coming into his fine establishment.

Dolphin Way

A vast array of colorful coral and exquisite fish drowns your eager eyes. The fish seem startled at first but then realize that you are no potential threat. To the south you see the local armory. Looking north your eyes feast on a small coral built hut which a sign reads, 'Majik Works of Aquallia'. A sandy floor stripped clean from seaweed continues east and west.

Majik Works of Aquallia

Like the rest of the shops in Aquallia, this shop has a small pocket of fresh air to make bartering easier. Magical devices rest in display cases and hang on the walls. Wands and staves are all available, as are other magical items for a price. Or, if you have some magical items you wish to sell you may get a fair offer for your hard won treasures.

Armor Shop

This shop has a slight earthy smell from the oils that are used to make the armor available here suited for underwater use. Since metal and normal leather just won't do for long periods underwater various other materials have been cured for usage. Specially oiled sharkskin has been made into jackets and helmets. Kelp has been dried and cured to form almost steel-like arm plates and greaves.

Dolphin Way

As you arrive from the east several elven folk swim past. To the north you see a building with a sign that reads, "Potions & Brews!" To the south an obsidian building with a pair of crossed tridents above the door dares you to enter. The sandy path continues east and west.

Potions and Brews

The air here is filled with the scent of spice and salt. Glass display contain potions and bottles of all shapes and colors. Dried ingredients rest and hang on shelves that line the walls. A magical ball floats out of reach that seems to keep this place very dry at all times. The only exit is to the south.

Weapon Emporium

Crossbows made of lacquered wood especially designed for usage underwater can be seen hanging next to weighted nets, tridents and harpoons. There is an exit to the north leading back to Dolphin Way.

Dolphin Way

The water begins to waver around you. Pondering this enigma has brought your attention north, where many dolphins are swimming about merrily amongst the sea faring elvish folk. The bank of Aquallia is to the south. To the east is the gate of Aquallia, leading out of the city, and Dolphin Way continues to the west.

Dolphins of Aquallia

You swim up to a large flat area on the reef. Dolphins swim about mounted by their sea elf riders preparing for departure to other parts of Aquallia or off on hunting or foraging trips. A man here offers you the equipment needed for riding these intelligent mounts. The Dolphin way can be accessed to the south.

East Entrance to Aquallia

You swim just inside the city limits of Aquallia, home of the sea elves. Dolphin Way runs back west into the city and Coral Drive lies to the north. Out past the edge of the city to the east, beyond a large rock bed, is the great trench of the Moonsea. A small, rustic guard post stands to the south. A few dolphins circle above you, mounted by their sea elf riders looking for signs of trouble.

Palace Avenue

Citizens wander through the avenue, greeting each other as they pass. To the west lies the palace itself, a source of many rumors in recent times. A large Inn made of white coral is north, providing Sea Elves and foreigners alike a safe place to stay. The homes of many guild masters are on the Coral Drive east and the Central Square lies south.

Coral Drive

The Drive is paved in what seems to be hardened sand bricks of rainbow colors. Young students of different arts pass by visiting the masters of their art. A house of brilliant white coral lies to the north, the symbol of a master healer above its doorway. An equally lovely house of light pink coral lies to the south, the symbol of a torch above its doorway. To the west runs the Palace Avenue, and the Coral Drive continues east.

Many sea-elven children play in the street, swimming and swirling around your hasty approach. To the south you see a house made of marble with the emblem of the palace painted on the door. To the north a smaller house rests near a beautiful bed of sea-orchards. The coral drive runs east and west from here.

Coral Drive

The first thing you notice upon your arrival are two heavily armed guards standing motionless in front of what's known as the 'patrol barracks' to the north. To the south is a small house with a huge lobster tail canopy above the door. Coral Drive continues west into the city and east to its end at the old east gate.

A Sea Elf Home

This well kept home is the most pleasurable around. There are weapons FIRMLY ATTACHED to the wall. Tridents and large swords all bearing the palace crest upon the hilt glitter underneath a ball of light attached to the ceiling. A tapestry of the royal guards and other knights is hanging clearly above the rack. This seems to be the house of a squire. A squire of this city lives very well!

Barracks

The barracks are full of excitement as small crabs bustle in then charge out. The windows are of stained glass with pictures of dolphins and rays swimming around each other. A large coral table which seats six has papers sprawled all over. Obviously the city guards and other high nobles must have meetings here.

A Sea Elf Home

Nearly tripping over a large turtle shell used as a table you keenly notice that this dimly lit house seems to have been in a monsoon! Chairs are overturned and toys sprawled all over the place! The maid must be on vacation. There is a small painting of the queen hanging lopsided upon the wall. She appears bewildered!

Zenzod's Residence

This wonderfully furnished home belongs to Zenzod, consort to her majesty the queen of Aquallia. There doesn't seem to be anyone home right now. It is dark and almost foreboding. Corners and furniture almost completely obscured in shadow seem to be made of expensive woods brought down from the surface. A small chest sits in the corner of the room with a green symbol attached. The only exit is to the north.

A Sea Elf Home

A worried elf spins hastily to see you. He appears to be very busy plugging the leak in his window with treated mud from the sea floor. There is a large puddle on the crab-tiled floor where the water seeps in. He mildly waves and shrugs as he turns to face his work once again. A small squid is drying on a table nearby. Lunch!!! Yum!!!

A Sea Elf Home

This house appears lovely furnished with coral chairs, couches and the like. A female commoner turns to greet you as her husband rests on the couch smoking a pipe made of pearl. There are several paintings of the king and queen all about. You begin to ponder the loyalty of the hierarchy's subjects.

Aquallia Inn

This is the lobby of a fine sea elf inn. The regular patrons of the inn sit at large shell tables talking and laughing about daily activities. A small waitress moves between the tables serving fine seafood and drink. Tiny crabs dart out from under tables and chairs snatching up scraps of food that have fallen to the floor. A doorway above leads to the reception for sea elves, to the north is the visitor's lobby, and a doorway south leads out into the city.

Knight's Hallway

This room is used by the knights to suit up before practice in the marshal yard to the west. The squires of the knights help their masters get into their gear. Several pieces of armor lie about and squires rush here and there cleaning and repairing them. Benches sit around the room for the knights to sit upon as they are suited up.

Knight's Yard

This small courtyard is more of a sandbar than a marshal yard. The Palace walls completely surround the courtyard, but one can look up and see the surface of the sea above. Training dummies made of wrapped seaweed and shells are placed around the yard. Knights practice while mounted on dolphins, diving in attack at dummies and each other. An archway to the east leads into the Palace.

Entrance To the Chapel

This is the entrance to the Palace chapel, where the royal family worships their gods. Two man sized statues of past bishops carved from white marble stand against the north and south walls. An overwhelming sense of peace fills the room, a powerful counterpoint to the tension that fills the rest of the Palace. The Chapel is to the east, while the archway to the west leads to the main hallway.

The Altar

The Chapel is dominated by the Altar of The Gods of the Sea. The Altar is made of pink and green coral, and mother of pearl. Altar boys run about the Chapel taking care of their daily chores. The ceiling of the Chapel is high vaulted and what lights the room is not discernable.

Small Parlor

This room was once used by the princess to entertain guests. Not having been seen around the palace for some time, some say that she has taken ill while others speculate that she may be imprisoned. Several plush chairs and comfortable looking couches fill the room. The large door to the west looks relatively new and quite strong. An archway to the east leads into the main hallway.

Small Bedroom

This bedroom belongs to Princess Nicole. The furnishings seem fairly plain for someone of such noble birth as a princess. The small bed in the center of the room is neatly made and the blankets are folded. A dresser and vanity rest against the north wall. Seashell combs and pins rest on a strange looking night stand. The door to the east leads to the princess's parlor.

Noble's Court

It is here that the nobles of the sea elf kingdom come to hold court. Rumors around the kingdom tell of recent strange events: nobles acting strange, or vanishing completely. Banners from past conquests cover the wall behind the desk and shelves filled with trophies line the southern wall. The doorway to the west leads into the guard post.

Top of the Hole

This dark hallway ends at a hole in the floor. Pink swirls on the floor seem to move about around a dark staircase leading down. Faint screams and groans can be heard from the hole and a deep chill radiates from below. The main hallway of the palace lies to the east. Some small crabs skitter up and down the staircase with insane glee.

Below the Hole

The staircase through the hole spirals down into the middle of a dimly lit cavern. Every surface of the cavern is turquoise in color, from the floor to the ceiling - this room seems almost circular, with no obvious seams between walls and floor and ceiling. Faint light radiates from glowing orbs that float throughout the cavern. A chill seeps in from the hall to the east, and the staircase leads up into the palace.

Dank Hallway

This dark hallway proves to be a prison of some kind, as cells can be seen on either side of the hallway as far as one can see. The cells to the immediate north and south appear to be filled with air - this must be where the Sea Elves keep their air breathing prisoners. West lies a cavern with a staircase leading up into the palace. The hallway continues east, where screams can be heard.

Dank Hallway

The surfaces of the hallway bear scratches, as if someone or something large was forced through the hall. Seaweed floats above the bars to cells along the north and south walls. The scratches seem to lead east, toward the apparent end of the hallway. The hallway leads west and east.

Dank Hallway

The hallway ends here, where a large steel-like coral door blocks passage to the east. Doors to the north and south prove to be more cells. The scratches on the surfaces of the hall seem to be the worst here. Close inspection indicates that someone or something large was forced or fought east behind the coral door. Screaming can be heard from behind the door.

Large Holding Chamber

This chamber is filled with water, with a small pocket of air at the ceiling. The floor is made of a black stone that reflects no light and is covered in rock, sand, bits of coral, and other small debris. Small fish dart in and out of holes in the floor and walls. This seems to be a cell for large water beasts. The door west leads out into a hallway.

A Water filled Cell

Murky water swirls about in the confines of this cell. Pitch black sand and debris litter the floor. Skeletons hang from shackles on the ceiling and walls. Tiny scavengers move about, picking over the remains of the former occupants of the cell.

A Water filled Cell

The water in this cell is very cold. Small shackles are attached to the southern wall. Thin layers of slime cover the walls and ceiling, and the floor is covered in the dissolved remains of different sea creatures. The open door to the north leads out into the hall.

A Water filled Cell

This cell is filled with water for holding prisoners that live underwater. Shackles dangle from the walls and ceiling. Small sea creatures swim and skitter through the trash on the floor. The exit to the south is covered in seaweed.

A Water filled Cell

The water in this cell is almost completely black with ink. At one time a small squid must have inhabited this cell.. or perhaps it still does. Slime covered chains hang from the ceiling and floors. Tiny scavenger creatures scurry across the floor looking for something to eat. There is an exit to the north.

An Air filled Cell

This cell is filled with air for prisoners that require air to survive. A magical spell upon the room refreshes the air and keeps out the water. A small bench sits against the eastern wall and a cot sits against the northern wall. Several crabs and various other sea life darts about the room.

An Air filled Cell

This cramped cell is filled with magically refreshed air. The floor is wet and covered in slime and filth. A small bunk sits against the southern wall and a bucket for waste is on the eastern wall. Several plates of rotting food lie just inside the door. The only exit is to the north.

Outside the City of Aquallia

You are just outside of the city of Aquallia, home to the sea elves. A large trench can be seen disappearing into darkness to the east, and a little way off a dark cave mouth opens in the side of the reef. The city can be entered to the west.

West of the Trench

Fish and other sea life swim and flit about the cool waters. A large cave mouth lies to the south. Fish seem to be avoiding the cave out of some fear. The entrance is dark and cold water seems to emanate from within. The Great Trench lies to the east descending into the darkness of the sea.

Cave Mouth

Cold water is coming from the cave. It feels very oily and smells rather musty to your water sense of smell. A tunnel disappears into darkness contains gods know what. You can access the trench or the city back to the north.

Tunnel Split

The cave splits here into two separate tunnels, one leading east and the other leading west. The cave is very dark and very cold, large blankets of algae cover the walls and cave floor. The cave exits to the open water to the north.

Turning tunnel

Several large shell fish have been devoured here. Their shells are broken and empty on the tunnel floor. The water is getting increasingly cooler as you continue down the tunnel.

Murky Tunnel

The tunnel stretches past several sea elven skeletons. One of them seems to have been bitten in half by some large beast. The others are decayed, their equipment and clothing rotting and smashed. There are exits to the north and to the south.

Bend

Cold water is emanating from somewhere to the east. A few tiny fish dart away at your presence. You wonder just what could live in such a cold and creepy underwater cave such as this.

Cold Water

The cave darkens and cold water swirls around you. Another small tunnel branches off in various directions from which you came. To the north a click sound can be heard.

Tunnel Turn

The dark and cold tunnel turns swiftly to the south. This must have been a naturally occurring cave for the tunnels to be so round. Probably a magma flow of some kind.

Murky Tunnel

Murky waters swirl about this dark tunnel. A few crab and other small life forms have met some kind of doom here. Their shells and corpses litter the tunnel floor. The cave continues north and south.

Bend

The tunnel comes to a bend here over the top of a large turtle shell. The shell is a deep green and is covered in muscle shells and algae. It is empty now but once must have been a very large sea turtle.

Colder Water

The water here is very very cold. Small ice crystals have formed on the walls and floor. Above a large pocket of air can be seen. Several large turtle like shells lie about this water filled cavern. Suddenly one of them moves!

Descent into the Trench

The trench drops down deep into the earth. Small sea life swim and crawl about your feet and head. There is a narrow crack into another part of the trench to the north and a large descending face to the east. The city can be accessed further to the west.

Trench floor

This is a smaller canyon separate from the main trench floor. Sea elf skulls and other oddities are mounted on the tips of tridents that they once wielded: a warning. There is a small crack leading up to the south, and the canyon continues north toward the lands of the mermen.

Merman outpost

The open canyon comes to a small crevasse here. This area has been converted into a guard post for the evil mermen. The sea elves and these mermen are constantly at war with one another, though there has not been a skirmish for some time. The way south leads out of the mermen's lands, and the crevasse opens north into the center of their territory.

Twisted Statues

Several large statues have been raised here, depicting the merman kings of centuries gone by. The statues are devoid of any sea life or weeds in the center of this underwater square. The crevasse lies to the south and a large underwater avenue leads north.

Mirk Square

This must once have been a surface city that has now sunk below the waves. The square is tilted at a crazy angle to the south east. A large cracked and now useless fountain once adorned this square. There are streets leading south and to the east. A large crumbling structure rests to the north.

Mirk Central

This sunken road is choked with rubble and silt. Small crabs and other aquatic life scuttle about the bottom. This ancient civilization must have been quite advanced to have built such magnificent streets. There are exits to the north and south and the street continues west; eastward the ruins are too choked and destroyed to go on.

Counsel Room

This is where the merman king comes to hear counsel from the sub commanders of his troops about their on going campaign against the sea elves. The room is large and bowl shaped with silt and sand covering the bottom. You may exit the building to the south or continue into the king's chambers to the north.

Guard Post

This small ruined shop has been converted into a guard's barracks for the mermen troops. Weapons and armor lie in various states of repair about the room. There is an exit to the north.

Merman Shaman's Abode

This was once a great library of a pretty large city. Now it is cracked and ruined from its descent into the trench below the sea. A magical shell keeps the water outside the building letting anything else pass through. In the center of this once shelf filled room is a large pot with a smokeless fire underneath. Various religious artifacts and skulls of aquatic as well as surface life adorn the walls and floor. There is a large magic circle at the north end of the room. The only exit is to the south.

Throne Room

The Throne Room of the Merman king is more of a harem. The room is air filled with small pools of water for bathing or relaxing with his many wives. A large throne from this once great civilization has been brought here for use as the merman king's. There is an exit to the south back to the King's counsel chambers.

Trench Floor

This is the trench floor. Many an elf has passed into the next world down here. The giant crab and the giant squid have slain many. Not to mention the giant shark. There are exits to the north, south and back out of the trench to the west.

Trench Floor

The trench life is amazing. Everything seems to be several sizes too big. Even the plankton are large. You can almost see them swimming about the water. There are exits to the east, north and south.

Trench Floor

The canyons here are huge. They stretch out for what seems like forever in all directions. The water is getting a bit warmer here and seems to be even warmer to the east. There are exits to the east and west.

Trench Floor

This valley in the trench comes to a halt at the mouth of a small cave to the south. Bones and broken pieces of armor lie strewn about the entrance to the cave.

Narrow crack

A large crack opens here in the trench wall, eastward into the rock. Large fish flit about the opening searching for food. A few deep sea plants cling to the rock face and the sand on the bottom. The trench floor lies back to the north.

Rocky cave

You swim about the confines of a rocky cave. Large fish dart here and there at your arrival. The water is a bit murky here but not too dark to see. There are large tunnels to the north and east or you may exit the cave to the west.

Small tunnel

The cave appears to have been naturally formed. The rock is dark with small flecks of white and green; come to think of it, almost everything is green down here. The tunnel comes to an abrupt end, and large fish regard you quietly as you decide where to go next. The only way on is back south.

Hole

The tunnel narrows before opening into a larger chamber. There is a small hole in the floor leading down into darkness. The water emanating from this hole is very warm. The tunnel to the west leads back out.

Trench Floor

A small boat seems to have sunk beneath the waves here. It is smashed and broken on the trench floor. Its wood is in various stages of decay. There is a small crack to the east and more trench floor to the south.

Trench Floor

The crack opens into a little hidden area on the trench floor. A large clam dominates the center of this canyon. Its closed shell must be seven feet across. There is an exit to the west.

Small cave

A huge crab has made this place his home. Sand is piled up at the mouth of the cave to make access difficult. Once inside he rears up at you and advances.

Murky Shaft

The hole is very dark but also fairly warm. You are deep beneath the water and yet this heat is coming from somewhere below. The shaft continues down into darkness and up back into the tunnels.

Near the Bottom

The shaft widens quite a bit here as you near the bottom of this dark hole filled with now lukewarm water. As far as you can tell this shaft was made by natural causes.

Outside the Lair

You have reached the bottom of the shaft. The water is almost too warm here. Like a very hot bath and gets increasingly warmer to the east. A long shaft leads to the tunnels above and a small opening leads east.

Lair

You have wandered into a scrag's lair. These sea trolls grin and begin to advance slowly upon you. Better to leave while you still can!

Lair of the Dragon Turtle

This is the lair of the dreaded Dragon Turtle. A large bed of sea weed and kelp covers the floor. Green and brown weeds and other objects cling to the high ceiling and walls. There is a small hole leading down into the water filled cave below and a large crack to the south.

Treasure Room

The crack opens into another large cavern. This is where the Dragon Turtle keeps her treasures that she has pillaged from the elves, mermen and ships from above. There is a large crack to the north leading back to the Dragon Turtle's lair.

Paladin's shrine

This is a small shrine dedicated to the holy warrior race. Several altars line the walls here, dedicated to various lawful good gods of war, justice and healing. There is an exit to the east.

Master's chamber

This small room is filled with shelves of books up to the ceiling. Magical instruments and other artifacts have been placed about the room. Potions and scrolls are scattered over a large desk which dominates the room. This would appear to be the personal chamber of a master mage.

Run down tavern

This building is not as nice as the others in the city. It's a rough tavern that some of the bigger guards and the more shady characters frequent. The place appears empty now except for a figure almost hidden in shadows. The door west opens onto Coral Drive.

A druid's home

A small hut has been built into the top stalks of the kelp here. This is the home of a grand sea elf druid. Living necessities are spread about the room in an order like fashion. You may leave down into the kelp forest from here.

Ranger's post

This small guard post is a bit different than the others that fill the city of Aquallia. The walls are a bit more rustic and the whole room seems more in tune with nature and the sea. Armor and weapons especially designed for nature wanderings lay about the room in a haphazard fashion. There is an exit to the north.

The Old Message Room

This small room was once the message post for the sea elf city. A desk still faces the doorway, and on the wall behind it are rows of boxes where messages were sorted into regions. Nobody ever explained how paper letters were meant to survive underwater, which may be why the sea elves were the first to give them up. The Seal of the City of Aquallia is displayed upon the wall above the boxes, and on each side of the doorway are a set of crossed tridents.

Bank of Aquallia

This is the bank of Aquallia. The room is air filled with a magical field preventing the air to leak out of the archway to the north. The building is constructed of pink and green coral and the air is fresh and cool.

Donations

Assorted items are scattered throughout this room. Small sea creatures swim and crawl inside and around gauntlets, shields, swords, and all other manner of fighting gear. In one corner there is a pile of odds and ends of multiple designs and uses. It would appear that this room is used for donating items to those less fortunate.

Aquallia Visitors' Inn

The visitor lobby is protected by a powerful spell that not only keeps out the water but replenishes the air. Guests from faraway lands and other worlds sit at the large shell tables talking and trading information. A beautiful sea-green skinned girl of an unknown race moves from table to table, serving the guests and entertaining them with songs. A small flight of stairs leads up into the visitors' reception, an archway north opens into a room grown from living coral, and the sea elf lobby is south.

Aquallia Visitors' Reception

This visitors' inn was created by an enterprising young man who realized the profit he could make from an inn underwater for people that needed air. Exotic items that he gathered in his travels are on display throughout the room. Embedded within the ceiling and floor are strands of magical silk, glowing with a soft silver light that fills the room.

Fury's Hidden Retreat

This retreat appears to be made entirely of the fantastical dreams of the one that lives here. A desk made of an unknown black material glows with a soft blue light and emits a humming sound that sounds instantly familiar and alien at the same time. Along the northern wall are great book cases filled with a fantastical mix of faerie tales, history books, philosophy books, and books on science and math. An enormous black grand piano sits in the center of the room with a chandelier of unknown gems floating above it seemingly attached to nothing. Chairs made of perfectly cut flawless crystal surround a small tea table of the same design. Various love seats and chairs, all made of what appear to be solidified clouds, are spread around the room. Pictures of young women from across the worlds line the walls in a continuous scene so lifelike that they seem to truly be alive. As one looks around the room, it can be seen that when viewed in a sideways glance, the room changes into a luxurious bedroom, a great dining hall, a cavernous game room, a huge room with a pool, and a bathing room. All at once it can be seen that this one room is in fact an endless palazzo somehow all existing in the space of one room. Seemingly from everywhere and nowhere all at once, the sound of soft whispers, giggling, and light talking can be heard, as if there were many people in this very room but somehow hidden from sight. This wonderland of dreams become reality sends the head spinning and the heart racing from excitement and wonder.

Bank of Aquallia

Large desks are arrayed through the main office of the bank. Conversion charts for all the currencies of the realms are posted on the far wall. Sea Elves and other races alike are depositing and withdrawing money from their accounts. A large section of the office is marked off - only exclusive business traders are allowed in that part, making trades in multiple companies.

The Druid's Room

This large room seems to have somehow been grown out of the coral rather than built - a powerful druid must have created this room. Beautiful flowers of every color grow around the base of a large coral tree in the center of the room. The walls are covered in light green vines with lavender leaves. Tables surrounded by small benches are everywhere through the room, also having grown from the coral.

The Sea

The water is getting much rougher here. White caps crash and the water swirls. A large land mass can be seen far off on the northern horizon, and the open sea calms eastward. Flocks of seagulls hover in the air further east.

The Sea

The water is calm here. The swelling of the waves has fallen into a steady rhythm. Flocks of seagulls hover overhead, crying out to each other. A shoreline can be seen only a short distance off, beyond the shallows, and the reef shows bright beneath the surface; schools of brightly colored fish swim just beneath the waves. The rougher sea lies back west.
