A Bubble Along the Coral Reef

As you skirt the side of this large floating reef of coral, you find a small bubble of air fixed about the entrance to a cave or tunnel leading into the reef. You have found no other bubbles along the reef, nor any other openings into it, which seems strange. The open water lies above you, and the tunnel leads south.

Guard Room

This room is plain and bare except for a coral bench along the east wall. To the south a short corridor leads to a gate. There is a set of double doors leading to the north into light.

Inside the Cave Opening

The cave opening seems to be a natural formation in the reef, but the double doors to the south are most definitely not a natural occurrence. The floor of the entrance appears to have been leveled off and smoothed to a fine surface.

Lair Entrance

This room is plain and bare. The floor is smooth and appears to be waxed: the porous coral is filled with a wax-like substance that leaves a smooth finish and would keep feet from slipping if the floor got wet. There is a gate to the north, hallways leading east and west, and an archway to the south opens into an armory.

A Bend in the Hallway

The hallway forms a corner here. To the east, the hall opens into a large room while to the south the hall continues for quite a ways. The smoothed coral floor is covered with the same wax-like material to help keep the coral from deteriorating as beings walk on it.

Outside an Archway

There is an archway to the west, leading into a room. The hallway continues to the south and north. An intersection can be seen further to the south.

A Mostly Tiled Room

This room appears to be planned for living accommodations. The chamber is approximately the right size for the purpose, and the walls and floor have been elegantly tiled in a dark blue color. The ceiling is out of place in this room. It is the bare coral with the standard wax coating and looks like it was forgotten.

An Intersection

The hallway meets a short corridor here. The branch leads to the east into a large room while the main hallway continues to the north and south. You can faintly see an archway to the north.

Western End of a Barracks

This is the western side of a large room intended to be a barracks. There are rows of cots and at the foot of each cot stands a coffer which is open and empty. Along the west wall is a row of columns. Each column is cylindrical with a pearl colored tile covering them. There is an archway to the south and the room continues to the east. Behind one column to the west a hallway leads out of the room.

Center Area of a Barracks

This appears to be the center of this huge barracks area. There is an archway to the south, while the room continues to the east and west. The floor here is coated in a waxy substance and does not look like it is going to be tiled at all.

Eastern End of a Barracks

This is the eastern side of a large room which appears to be a barracks in some capacity. There are lots of cots and empty coffers which seem to say that this area is not in use yet. The room continues quite a ways to the west and there are archways leading from the room to the north, east, and south. North and south appear to lead to other rooms, while to the east lies a hallway.

An Officer's Room

This is a small room which appears to be private quarters for an officer within the hierarchy. It is a clean room and the walls, ceiling, and floor are all tiled in a light blue color. There is a bunk along the south wall. A large step up from the cots in the common barracks outside. The only exit appears to the north, leading back into the common barracks.

An Officer's Quarters

This room is tiled in light blue and appears to be prepared to house an officer in the future. There is a bunk along the south wall, instead of the cots in the general barracks. There is an open and empty coffer at the foot of the bed. The only apparent exit is through the archway to the north, leading back into the common barracks.

An Officer's Quarters

This room is tiled in a light blue color. There is a bunk along the southern wall, and a small, open coffer at its foot. This must be a room for an officer because there is not a cot in the room, but the bunk. The coffer is empty at the moment, but probably will be well used when an officer moves in.

Eastern Half of the Armory

This room has racks of weapons against its walls. The floor is tiled in a deep purple, almost the color of dried blood: fitting for the storage of tools of death. The armory continues to the west, an archway leads east into a storage room, and another leads south into the barracks.

Storage Room

This room is plain and nearly empty. A few tools are scattered about and some coils of frayed rope lie in a heap. The walls, floor and ceiling are waxed to a smooth finish, but there is no tiling here. The only exit is the archway to the west.

Western Half of the Armory

This is the western side of the large armory. Basic weapons lie about in racks along the walls. An archway leads north into the lair's entrance, another opens west into a store room, and the armory extends further to the east.

A Store Room

This room is used to store goods and supplies, though there is not much here of any value. The walls and floor are plain and untiled. The only exit is the archway to the east, back into the armory.

A Long Hallway

The hallway is carved from the coral but has not been tiled with shells of any kind. The floor and walls have been waxed to fill in the coral and protect it. The hallway runs east from the lair's entrance, which lies back to the west.

A Long Hallway

This hallway is bare and unexciting. The walls, floor and ceiling are waxed to protect the coral and none of it has been tiled to provide any color at all. The hall is a dull white with some greenish tint from the protective wax. The hall continues to the east and west.

A Long Hallway

This hallway is untiled and bare. The white coral has been tinted slightly green from the wax-like material used to protect it from the wear of foot travel. The hallway extends a ways to both the south and the west.

Outside a Room

This part of the hallway runs north and south, but there is an archway leading to the east into a room. The hall continues to be untiled and otherwise unremarkable.

Officer's Quarters

This room has been tiled in a dark green color. The floor, all the walls, and the ceiling have been tiled, although the ceiling is a slightly lighter shade of green. The room doesn't appear to be finished yet, as there is no bed here, although it looks like space has been left for one. There is a small, open, empty coffer in the corner.

Outside a Large Barracks

The hallway here is plain and bare except for the archway leading to the west. To the west appears to be a large barracks area judging by the cots and large amount of space in there. The hallway itself continues to the north and south.

A Long Hallway

This part of the hallway is as plain and unremarkable as previous parts of it. The smoothed coral walls and floor are tinted the same green from the same waxy material. The hall continues to the north and south.

End of a Long Hallway

This is the end of a very long corridor. The hall extends for a long ways to the north while an archway to the south leads into a room. These are the only two exits from this area.

Slave Pen Guard Post

This room is a plainly dressed room, tiled in white. There are several exits leading from this room. The archways to the north, south, and west all lead to hallways, while the gate to the east leads into the slave pens. There is a large bench for the guards to rest on, but otherwise there is no furniture or decoration here.

Southern End of a Slave Pen

This room extends a long way to the north, with a line of pillars carved from the same coral as the ceiling and floor running down its length. The coral here has been neither waxed nor tiled, and it is stained brown and yellow from the filth of the slaves kept here. The pen continues to the north, and a gate leads out of it to the west.

Northern End of a Slave Pen

The walls and floor of this part of the room is stained more yellow than brown. The smell of sweat is greatly overpowered by the stench of urine. The pillars continue here, almost to the northern wall. The room is empty except for a sick and dying slave in the corner who is unable to work.

A Small Twisting Corridor

This is a narrow corridor, tiled in a pale pink shell from floor to ceiling. An archway to the east opens into a guard room, and the corridor continues to the west.

An Intersection

This is an intersection in the pale pink corridor. A short hall branches off to the north, while the main corridor continues east and west. The same pale pink shell covers every surface.

The Guest Wing

This short hallway ends here. The walls, ceiling and floor are tiled in pale pink shell, and large bronze doors stand to the east and west. The hallway leads back south to an intersection.

A Guest Room

This room is tiled in a dark green shell. There is a carving etched into the shells of the southern wall depicting a scene of fish and other creatures moving along the ocean floor. There is a small, open, empty coffer attached to the floor in the northeastern corner of the room. There is space for a bed along the south wall, underneath the carving. The only exit appears to be the door to the west.

A Guest Room

This room is tiled in a bright yellow color. The southern wall has a carving etched into the shells. The carving depicts many sahuagin in a victorious battle over beings which appear to be tritons. There is a small coffer in the northwestern corner of the room which is empty and open. There appears to be a space below the etching for a bed to be placed in this room when the construction is finished.

Hallway

The wax-coated hallway twists and turns through the center of the coral reef here, with nothing of interest in either direction. It runs east and west, and to the west it meets another hall.

A Bend in a Corridor

This corridor is long and straight, its walls lacking any detail and monotonous in their sameness. An intersection can be dimly seen to the north. The corridor continues north and south.

An Intersection

This is a particularly boring intersection. There are no interesting details to enliven the boring coral walls with the greenish wax coating. This is an intersection of two corridors. One leads to the north and south, while the other leads to the east.

A Cool Intersection

The air in this intersection is a much lower temperature than in the other hallways. The cold seems to be radiating from the bronze double doors to the east. Otherwise, this is just a standard, boring section of hallway with the same greenish wax.

Cold Storage

This room appears to be where the sahuagin store food for long periods of time. The temperature here is quite chilly and seems to work well for cold storage. Around the room are several carcasses hanging on hooks in the ceiling. After a quick examination, many appear to be humans, elves, and dwarves. The only exit appears to be the doorway to the west.

A Long Corridor in the Reef

The greenish-tinted coral seems to go on forever to the north and south. There are no details that stand out on the floor or ceiling, and there is only darkness along the halls to the north and south.

A Corner in the Long Corridor

The corridor takes an abrupt turn here. The only thing that is readily noticeable is the darkness to the east and north, along the hallway. This appears to be the only directions to take from here.

A Long Corridor in the Reef

The seemingly endless hallway runs east and west. The greenish wax on the floor is a little thicker here, as if less worn than elsewhere. Darkness and nothing of interest greet you in either direction, though you can faintly hear the din of metal on stone from somewhere ahead.

A Long Corridor in the Reef

The hall runs as straight as an arrow here, to the east and west. The sounds of construction are plainly audible, though not so loud that you must raise your voice. The noise seems to come from somewhere beyond the eastern end of the corridor.

A Corner in the Long Corridor

The corridor turns here, heading north and west. The sounds of work are clearly coming from the north, where an archway can be dimly seen along the side of the hallway. The hall extends as far as you can see to the west.

Outside a Large Room

The corridor here leads to the north and south. The walls, floor and ceiling are covered with a thick layer of a greenish wax-like substance to protect the coral. To the east, an archway leads into a fairly large room. From the north come the louder echoes of mining or construction. The noise is getting to the point where you almost need to shout to hear yourself over the sound.

Astrologer's Room

This room is filled with all kinds of charts of the stars and the sun. Books cover shelves and tables. The place is very messy and cluttered with all kinds of books and scrolls. A large chart covers most of the southern section of the eastern wall. A bed lies hidden in the northeast corner of the room, tucked away behind a stack of books. The only exit appears to be to the west.

A Secret Chamber

This small chamber appears to be used to store important items. There are things laying about the floor, and otherwise the room is unadorned and bare of furniture. The only exit is through the secret door to the west.

A T-Shaped Intersection

This is an intersection between two corridors. One runs north and south, and the other heads off to the west. The sounds of construction come very clearly from the west, so loud that you need to shout to be heard. To the north the hallway is heavily worn, and an archway can be seen to the south along the wall of the corridor.

A Hallway through the Coral

This hallway is heavily traveled. The wax coating that gives the other halls their greenish tint has been worn away on the floor down to the coral itself, and the coral is beginning to break down in places. The traffic seems to pass between the guard post to the north and the work to the south.

A Hallway through the Coral

The sound of construction in this area rings with great volume. It is annoyingly loud and shouting is the only way to talk in this area. The noise is coming from the south. An intersection of corridors lies to the east.

Outside a Large Construction Area

The sounds of construction are clearly coming from the room to the west. The wax here is completely worn away and there is definite damage to the coral of the floor. There is an archway to the west, leading into the construction area, while the corridor leads back to the north.

A Room Under Construction

This room is very large. It is incomplete at the moment, but slaves are working very hard to finish the western wall, which is the only one that is not squared off and ready to be tiled. There are 3 large pillars supporting the ceiling and you suspect that another will be carved from the coral as the remaining wall is finished. There are about a dozen slaves here, working under the command of five sahuagin guards and a lieutenant. There is an exit to the east and a set of stairs leading down into the dark salt water of the surrounding ocean.

A Grand Hall

As you descend the stairs, you notice that the complex has passed entirely through the coral reef and has reached the stone underneath. This room is dressed stone with four pillars supporting the ceiling. There is a set of stairs leading up into a large air-filled room, and there are exits to the north, east, and west.

A Hallway

This hallway is carved from the surrounding stone. The walls are smooth and polished. The corridor turns to the east and south here and these are the only visible exits. To the south, an archway can be seen dimly through the water.

Outside a Large Room

The hallway runs to the north and south here. There is an archway to the west which leads into a room which appears to be living quarters for someone. There is little else of detail around.

A Comfortable Sleeping Chamber

The walls and floor of this room are tiled in a dark blue color, while the ceiling is covered with light blue tiles. There is a table and chair in the center of the room and growing from the floor in the northwestern corner is a dense patch of seaweed which has been trimmed to the same height. There is a pillow at the western end of the seaweed patch. The only apparent exit from this room is the archway to the east.

A Furnished Room

This room is furnished with a table in the center and a small bench beside it. In the northeast corner a bed of living seaweed grows straight from the floor. The walls and floor are covered with dark green tiles, the ceiling with light green. The only exit is the archway to the east.

A Bend in the Hallway

The hallway bends here. The dressed stone is clear of any growth and appears well cared for. The corridor leads north, an archway opens to the west into what seems to be someone's living quarters, and a large pillared room can be seen to the south.

Western End of the Females' Quarters

Two long tables with long benches take up most of this room, and about a dozen and a half seaweed beds line the north wall. An archway to the west leads into another room, a hallway leads north, and the room continues to the east. The floor is tiled in indigo, the walls in dark blue and the ceiling in light blue.

The Western Hatchery

This is a long, narrow room which is plain, untiled stone. There is no furniture in this room and the only thing of interest is the large mass of what appear to be fish eggs, albeit huge fish eggs, floating against the western wall. The only exit is the archway to the east.

Eastern End of the Females' Quarters

This room is tiled in three colors: dark blue walls, a light blue ceiling and an indigo floor. There are tables and benches here, and several seaweed beds along the south wall. An archway leads east into another room, a hallway leads north, and the room continues to the west.

The Eastern Hatchery

This is an untiled room of plain stone. There is no furniture or any decoration here. The only thing that keeps this room from being empty is a mass of what look like very large fish eggs against the eastern wall. The only exit is through the archway to the west.

The End of a Hallway

This is the end of a hallway of plain dressed stone. The hall leads east, and an archway opens south into a large pillared room. There is little else of interest here.

A Hallway

As you travel through the corridor, you come to a corner. The hall turns to the north and west. You can dimly see another corner to the north and a long, straight hall to the west. The hall is carved from the surrounding stone and is unadorned in any fashion.

Outside a Furnished Room

The hallway arrives at an archway here. The archway leads into a room to the north which, by its furnishings, appears to be a residential room. The hallway leads off to the west and south, with nothing but hallway to be seen in either of those directions.

General's Quarters

This is a large, comfortable room used to house the general of the complex's military and guard force. The walls and floor are covered with dark green tiles while the ceiling is tiled in bright white. There is a large table in the center of the room and a bench is standing next to it. In the northeastern corner of the room is a very large, thick seaweed bed. The only apparent exit from the room is the archway to the south.

A Hallway

This is a corner in the hallway you have been following. The corridor turns to the north and east. The hall runs as far as can be seen to the north, while an archway can be dimly seen to the east.

A Hallway

This is the beginning of a hallway which leads to the south and enters a room to the west. The hall is plain and undecorated, carved from the stone under the reef.

Outside a Set of Double Doors

This is an intersection of two passages. One runs east-west and the other runs to the south. To the north, lies a large pair of bronze doors. They are closed and appear very heavy. The passages all lead off in their respective directions with no clue as to where they lead.

Southern End of a Temple

This is a long room which is tiled entirely in gray. There are six pillars in this room, forming an aisle between them. There are three on either side of the created aisle. To the north is an altar and south is a set of double doors made of bronze.

An Altar to Olhydra

This is the main, ceremonial area of the temple. The entire surface of this room is tiled in gray. There are archways leading out of the temple to the east and west and the temple continues to the south.

A T-Intersection

This is an intersection of the main corridor running east-west and a smaller, less used hall leading off to the north. A Cleric's Chamber

This is a plainly furnished room, appropriate for most orders of clergy. There is a small, stone table in the middle of the room, and a small bench, also of stone, sits next to it. The walls and floor are tiled in a pattern of white and gray checkerboard while the entire ceiling is white. There is a seaweed bed in the northeastern corner. The only exit appears to be to the west.

The Vestry

It is a large coffer sitting on a small pedestal in the center of the room. The only exits from the room are a set of bronze double doors to the south and an archway to the west.

A T-Intersection

This is an intersection between two corridors. One leads to the north, where a set of doors can be seen a short distance down the hall. The other leads east and west. A large set of doors can be seen to the east, while only a long, straight passage can be seen to the west.

The eastern exit leads to another, smaller room, while the exit to the north leads into the hallway.

A Lieutenants' Quarters

This is a plain room with only a table, bench, and two seaweed beds as furniture. The table is in the center of the room with the bench next to it so someone sitting in it would face the archway leading into the room. The seaweed beds are in the northeast and southeast corners of the room.

Outside an Archway

You are standing outside an archway which leads west into a very large room that appears to be a storeroom. The hallway you are in continues to the north and south.

Armory and Storage Area

This is a large room with a lot of mundane weaponry lying about, none of it in good condition. Coils of rope have rotted away to soggy fiber in the salt water. Even the two spears on the floor at the base of the southern wall are dull and pointless, their handles worn away by some use a spear was never designed for. The only open way out is the archway to the east.

The Treasure Chamber

This is a plain stone room with very little of detail. After all, why decorate something that nobody is supposed to see? There are no visible exits to the room.

A Bend in the Long Hallway

This is a ninety degree turn in the corridor that you have been following. The passage leads to the north and east from here. You see only corridor for a long way in either direction. The walls are plain stone with no carvings or decoration.

An Intersection

This is a T-shaped intersection of two hallways. The main hall runs to the east and west. The secondary corridor runs to the south. The boring, plain walls give no indication of what is in any direction and you can see nothing down any corridor to give you a clue either.

Northern End of a Ramp

Outside the Western Bleachers

You stand outside an archway which leads into a huge arena-like area. You can hear the sounds of combat and cheering coming from the archway. The hallway you stand in continues to the north and south.

Outside an Archway

This part of the hallway forms a corner where the hall runs to the east and north. There is an archway that leads west, into a large room. The room to the west appears to be a living area but nothing can be determined about what is down the corridor to either the east or north.

An Elite Barracks

This is a large room with four pillars to help support the ceiling. There is no tiling to decorate this room or help make it less dull. A large seaweed bed lines the northern wall and a large table is in the center of the room with benches to seat six. There are two archways leading from the room, one to the east and one to the south.

Squad Leaders' Room

This is the living area and office of the squad leaders for the Third Floor Battalion, First Regiment. There is a bright blue tile covering all the surfaces of this room and a large seaweed bed in the southern half of the room. There is a desk in this room with a chair behind it. The only exit is through the archway to the north.

End of the Hallway

The hallway comes to an end here as it turns south into a room. The room to the south appears to be some sort of guard room and the hall runs west from here into the darkness.

Guard Post

This room is carved from the surrounding stone and lacks any type of decoration. The only furniture is a long bench against the western wall. There is a large bronze gate which blocks the southern exit. A hallway leads to the north.

Western End of a Training Cavern

This is a HUGE cavern which is housing many sahuagin while they wait for the upper level to be finished and flooded. They are in the process of running through standard battle drills with their commanders. The cavern extends a very long way to the east.

Center of a Training Cavern

This is the central area of a HUGE cavern. Many sahuagin are here training in daily routines. There are commanders watching over the session. The cavern is half natural and half worked stone. The northern half has been squared off to form walls, a ceiling, and a floor. The southern part of the cavern still appears as a large underwater cavern, carved out by the ocean. The cavern continues to the east and west and there is a portcullis closing off the cavern to the south.

Outside a Secret Entrance

You are standing outside a large portcullis leading north into the sahuagin lair. The surrounding stone has been carved by the natural flow of the seawater, and a narrow passage worn by the sea leads off to the west, toward a dark cave in the reef and the open ocean beyond.

Eastern End of a Training Cavern

You are in the eastern end of a HUGE cavern. The cavern is being used for training exercises by the warriors of the complex. There are superiors overseeing the training and many warriors participating. The cavern extends a very long way to the west. There is a gate leading into a room to the north.

Guard Post

This is a plain stone room without any sort of decoration. There is very little furniture in this room, in fact, the only piece of furniture is a small bench along the eastern wall. A large bronze gate blocks the passage to the south. A hallway leads out of the room to the north.

A Corner

This is a corner in the hallway you are following. The hall leads to the east and to the south. An archway leads into an arena-like area where you can hear the sounds of fighting and cheering. To the south, the passage ends in a small room which appears to be a guard room, or something similar.

Outside an Archway

You are standing in a hallway which leads to the north and west. There is an archway to the east which leads into a large room which seems to be some sort of living quarters.

An Elite Barracks

This large room has three large pillars supporting the ceiling. There is a large seaweed bed along the north and east walls. There are no tiles or any type of decoration on the walls or anywhere else for that matter. There is an archway to both the west and south. The archway to the west leads out into the hallway, while the southern archway leads into another room.

Squad Leaders' Room

This is a room carved from the surrounding stone. The walls are plain, and undecorated. There is a large seaweed bed along the southern wall and a large table in the center of the room. Around the table are four benches, large enough for six people. The only exit is through the archway to the north.

Outside the Eastern Bleachers

You are standing in a hallway which runs to the north and south. To the west, a large room opens up through an archway. The room appears to be similar to an arena and you can hear the sounds of combat and cheering.

Eastern Bleachers

This is the eastern section of the viewing area for the arena. Fifty rows of benches rise along the sloped gallery, a few occupied by spectators watching the current event. An archway leads east into a corridor, the bleachers continue north and south, and a short stair to the west leads down to the edge of the arena.

Northeastern Bleachers

This is a large gallery area with about 50 rows of benches forming a section of bleachers. The bleachers overlook an arena where a combat is currently going on. There are a few sahuagin sitting here watching the fight and placing bets on the winner, although it is by no means crowded. The bleachers continue to the south and west.

Northern Bleachers

This is a set of about 50 rows of benches forming a stand of bleachers. There are some sahuagin sitting here, watching the combat going on down in the arena. There is some betting taking place but there isn't a large population here to engage in the stakes. The bleachers continue to the east and west.

Northwestern Bleachers

You are standing approximately in the middle of about fifty rows of bleacher seats. They overlook an arena where two sahuagin are providing entertainment while they fight. There are some sahuagin watching the fight from here and placing bets on one combatant or the other. The bleachers continue to the east and south.

Western Bleachers

This is a section of bleachers overlooking two combatants in the arena. There are about fifty rows of benches but very few spectators, and those watching are betting on who will win. An archway to the west leads out into a hallway, a short stair to the east leads down to the edge of the arena, and the bleachers continue north and south.

Southwestern Bleachers

This is an area of bleachers that seems a bit higher in station. The seats here are not plain benches, but individual chairs fastened to the floor of the gallery. These seats overlook the arena where a combat is entertaining the few members of the populace that are here right now. The bleachers continue to the east and north.

The Southern Bleachers

This appears to be the section of bleachers that hold the royal boxes and the seats for the entourage. There are seats here instead of benches and most of them are empty. There are very few sahuagin in this section, watching the fight. No betting is taking place in this area. As you look down into the arena, you can see a large pair of bronze double doors on the far side, underneath the northern bleachers. The bleachers extend to the east and west from here.

Southeastern Bleachers

This is the southeastern corner of the arena's viewing area. It seems to be an area for higher classed people. The seats here are individual chairs while to the north rows of benches are visible. A combat is going on down in the arena and a few sahuagin are sitting around, placing bets on the fighters. There is an archway leading into a hallway to the south and the bleachers continue to both the north and west.

Northeast Corner of the Arena

You stand on the flat, smooth stone floor of the northeastern corner of the combat area. Bleachers rise around the arena with a few sahuagin spectators in attendance. The combat area continues south and west, while a short stair to the east climbs up into the eastern bleachers.

Northern End of the Arena

This is a wide open area of flat stone floor. There is a wall to the north separating the stands from the combat area. Built into the wall is a pair of large bronze doors. The combat area extends to the east, west, and south.

Northwestern Corner of the Arena

This is the northwestern corner of the combat area. The flat, smooth stone floor extends east and south. A low wall separates the fighting floor from the spectators, with a gap in it where a short stair climbs west into the western bleachers.

Western End of the Arena

This is a smooth stone floor used for combat and entertainment. The floor extends north, east and south. A wall along its western side separates the combat area from the bleachers.

Center of the Arena

This is the center of the combat floor. The flat stone extends to the north, east, south, and west. Two combatants are here using their skills to defeat their opponent and also entertain the crowd. At this point it appears that the fight is mostly for show because neither gladiator seems to have taken any damage. As you enter this section of the arena, the crowd begins chanting for your demise.

Eastern End of the Arena

You stand at the far eastern end of the arena floor. A wall along its eastern side separates you from the stands. The smooth stone of the floor extends to the north, west and south.

An Air Pocket

This appears to be an air pocket left over from when the level was filled with air in order to allow slaves to build the arena. A small amount of air is available to breathe and you may be able to cast a spell or two. The only way out is below, back into the arena.

Southeastern Corner of the Arena

This is the southeastern part of the combat floor. The flat stone floor extends north and west from here. Walls on the east and south sides separate you from the bleachers, where the seats along the southern side are chairs rather than benches, probably for the more important sahuagin.

Southern End of the Arena

This is the southern end of the smooth stone fighting floor. A wall along its southern side separates the combatants from the important spectators seated in the protected boxes beyond, where the king and his entourage would sit if they were here to watch. The combat area extends to the north, east and west.

Southwestern Corner of the Arena

This is the southwestern corner of the combat area. The smooth stone floor extends to the north and east to provide a large space for the entertainment. There is a wall separating the combat area from the seating to both the south and west. The western bleachers are made up of rows of benches but the southern bleachers are all individual chairs which would suggest that the southern section is for higher ranking sahuagin and guests.

Along a Coral Reef

You are swimming along the top of a huge, free-floating coral reef. The pinkish coral glows warmly in the light blue water, which seems to stretch on forever. The crest of the reef runs away to the south, and just below you a small bubble of air clings to its side.

End of the Coral Reef

This is the southern end of the reef, a broken edge of pink coral shaded with yellow and teeming with microscopic life. The face of the reef drops straight down from here into deeper water, and a dark cave mouth can be seen far below. The crest of the reef runs back north, and open water stretches away to the east.

A Cave Opening

This is a large cave opening in the underside of the coral reef. The cave is dark and foreboding, unlike the almost sunny waters of the plane above, and the face of the reef climbs straight up over your head toward the light. Darkness waits in the cave to the north.

A Deep Dark Cave

This is a large cave carved from the coral of the reef, deep enough to reach the stone beneath it. Rubbish lies everywhere, mostly waterlogged timbers broken and mangled as if by something huge. A narrow passage worn by the sea leads east toward a glint of bronze, and the cave mouth opens to the south.

Open Water off the Reef

You are swimming through the vast open water of the elemental plane. Debris drifts all around you: small bubbles of air, some of steam, and stones that float as easily as fish. A great coral reef floats just to the west, and far to the east a flat shape hangs motionless in the water.

A Floating Floor

This is a small stone floor floating in a vast ocean of salt water. Water surrounds you in every direction, and light filters down through it as if on a day of bright sunshine, yet when you look up there is no surface to reflect it. The floor is smooth and well worn, and faint markings on it form a circle of summoning, probably for travelers arriving from the astral plane. Open water surrounds the platform on every side and rises above it.

East of the Floating Floor

A huge, endless body of water extends in every direction. The stone platform floats close by to the west, and far to the north something large and oval rests in the water a little below you.

Above a Great Oyster

Warm, tropical water washes over you as you swim. Strange little fish-like creatures keep pace with you, unlike any fish you have ever seen. Directly below you rests a large oval shape, and something far bigger swims beyond the open water to the east.

A Strong Current

The currents here pull small bits of debris back and forth. Something enormous is swimming slowly in the water to the east. The open water continues to the west and south.

Among Floating Ice

The blue-green seawater stretches as far as the eye can see. A few small rocks and chunks of ice float lazily about, and the light pours down through the water undimmed from some unknown source above. Warmer water drifts down from overhead.

A Swirling Eddy

The bright blue-green water glimmers with life as a school of tiny silvery fish swims by. The currents here swirl and eddy in odd patterns, as if something in the water itself were moving. Open water stretches to the north and down.

Warm Water

The water here is uncomfortably warm, and only the currents make it bearable. To the west a large pocket of air hangs in the water, big enough to breathe in, it seems, and to cast a spell or two. The open water continues to the north and south.

Above a Floating Boulder

Life is plentiful in these waters: many small creatures thrive here and become food for the larger beings of the plane. A large boulder floats directly below you, and the open water stretches away to the south and west.

The Humming Waters

The water here is more green than blue, though the endless light still pierces it easily. Little floats in this area, and only a few small fish swim near you. When you pause, you seem to hear a faint humming, though you cannot tell where it comes from. The open water stretches east and west.

Beneath a Great Shadow

The clear water holds life of every kind, some familiar and some utterly alien. A large shape swims slowly above you, and you can feel the change in the currents all the way down here. Below and to the south the floating stone floor can be seen, and open water stretches to the east.

Beside a Giant Oyster

The water washes over you soothingly. A huge oval object floats here, covered in barnacles and small growths of seaweed, so that it seems a rock until its shell begins to open. Open water rises above you.

The Whale's Waters

This part of the ocean belongs to an enormous whale, swimming slowly about. The currents are weak here, broken up by its great bulk. Apart from this huge and peaceful native of the plane there is little to see, and the open water leads back west.

A Hot Pocket of Air

This is an air pocket, but the water around it has been heated to boiling, filling it with superheated steam. As you enter, you realize what a mistake it was not to look before rushing in. As your skin begins to blister and sear, you learn how a clam feels as it is steamed for dinner.

The Floating Boulder

The blue-green water clears as you reach a large, round boulder floating in the ocean like the smaller rocks around it. It is one of the biggest you have seen, crusted with barnacles and small tufts of seaweed and sea moss. Open water rises above it.

The Dragon Turtle's Waters

The clear tropical water gives a view such as you have never seen or heard of; you could see as far as on a crystal clear day on your home plane. This upper water is the haunt of a great, armored shape, and the only way from here is back down.

Above the Floating Floor

The clear blue-green water shows you a great deal of this watery world. Small fish-like creatures swim about, paying you no heed. Directly below you the flat stone floor floats in the water with nothing to anchor it, and chunks of ice and rock drift past, seemingly forgetting to fall. To the north a great shadow moves slowly through the upper waters.

The Crest of the Reef

The reef rises here into a long, ragged crest of pink and yellow coral, alive with tiny shrimp and darting fish. Far beneath your feet you can hear, faintly through the coral, the scrape of tools and the clatter of metal. The crest runs north toward a bubble of air on the reef's side and south to where the reef ends.

South of the Floating Floor

Warm currents wash over you, relaxing you in this strange place. A large stone platform floats in mid-water a short way to the north, held up by nothing at all. The clear water lets you see far around you, but nothing else of interest is in sight.

North of the Floating Floor

The floating stone platform hangs in the water just to the south, as if anchored, though nothing holds it. Small chunks of ice drift by alongside bubbles of air and steam, and rocks float about without ever sinking. The clear water gives you a fine view, and nothing dangerous can be seen nearby.

West of the Floating Floor

Through the blue-green water you can clearly see a stone platform floating just to the east. Nothing holds it in place, yet it does not fall as stone should. Small fish-like creatures approach you and swim away again, taking you for another harmless creature of the deep. Open water stretches back west toward a distant reef.

Zolgan's Underwater Workroom

This is a small workshop with a workbench and tools hung up on the wall. There are small bits and pieces of fins, bones, scales, and teeth. On a shelf are several rolls of skin, all with different textures and thicknesses. Inside the only drawer in the workbench is a box of various eyes and other facial parts. Basically, this is a god's work area for building mobs and objects. If you are a mortal, and weren't summoned here, I suggest you get out before you are caught. Maybe you could be used for spare parts.
