Kurtulmak's Caverns (Atham)

100 rooms · levels 13–24

Atham's Library

A simple, circular room with tall, full bookcases lining every wall. The books, in their erratic order and flashy bindings, give the room a great deal of its color. Many comfortable looking stuffed leather chairs sit loosely around an oaken table in the very center of the room, all of which lie on the plush, white-marbled carpeting. The ceiling is formed out of a transparent substance and shows many colorful fish swimming by in a crystal clear pool, their scales reflecting in the light coming from the room. In all, this is a room given over to the relaxing enjoyment of literature.

In The Vault

With walls, ceiling, and floor made seamlessly of some shining, silvery metal, one gets the idea that someone intended for this chamber to be very safe from prying eyes and wandering fingers. Even the door to the east melds with the wall, leaving only air-tight cracks to show its pres-ence.

Rocky Hillside

This is the foot of a rocky hill that rises to the west. It is almost entirely bare of soil, though enough dirt lies down here for a copse of dwarf oak trees, their branches forming a living wall, to thrive near the cliff face. But plants aren't the only things to be found here. Small, humanoid footprints show a great deal of traffic going both north and south.

A Hidden Trail

A trail going up the northern side of a rocky cliffside lies here. The path up the hill going west appears to be grueling work for those that choose to follow it while the path ends in a thick copse of dwarf oak trees to the east.

Winding, Rocky Trail

Barely more than a rock ledge on a sheer cliff, the trail continues to wind its way along from the east, ascending to the south. Looking out over the ledge, one gets the impression that a fall from this height might hurt somewhat. Briefly.

Windswept Ledge

A trail from the north ends here at a bare rock ledge on the side of the hill. Empty air greets you to the south and west, giving you a great view of the surrounding area. A patch of shadows on the hillside to the east shows the existence of a cave.

Shallow Cave

Barely more than a crack in the rock, this cave offers some protection from the wind, rain, and sun. It seems to have been used as such by the looks of the firepit in the middle of the cave floor and the remains of some small humanoid at the back of the cave. However, both the humanoid and the ashes in the firepit are long dead.

A Hole in the Ground

A dusty area under the looming presence of the surrounding cliffs, this small area has apparently had a lot of traffic go through it, going between the path to the north and a large hole dug into the sandstone. The foot-prints lead to one side of the hole, one which has very obvious, and crude, handholds, allowing one to climb into it.

A Hole in the Ceiling

This is a tunnel, crudely carved from the orangish sandstone making up the walls, floor, and most of the ceiling. The rest of the roof has been removed, leaving a yawning hole that is letting in air and light. Small hand and footholds have been carved in the wall, allowing more than just air and light to pass through it.

Sandstone Tunnel

This is a tunnel running east and west, poorly dug out from the orangish sandstone. The thick layer of dirt on the floor shows many small footprints running through here, including some towards a small alcove to the south. Also, the remains of many poorly made arrows lie here, broken by being fired into the rock walls.

Guards' Alcove

This is a small alcove, obviously carved out from the main passage in order to give someone a chance to spy upon those going by. Basically, it is a great place for someone to hide in ambush. The many footprints and sleeping mats left in the dirt here show that it has been used exactly for that purpose.

More Sandstone Tunnel

The tunnel continues to run in an east-west direction here, as do the many small footprints in the dirt floor. Long furrows show that a number of things were dragged through here as well.

Crude Sandstone Tunnel

Running east and west, this poorly carved tunnel has a great many small footprints in its soft dirt floor, only a few of which lead to a small alcove to the north. There are also some small, white nicks in the south wall, as well as the remains of some poorly made arrows lying at its base.

Guards' Alcove

This is a small alcove, obviously dug out to give someone the ability to spy upon those passing through the main passageway just to the south. It would also serve as a very good site for those wanting to ambush someone in the main tunnel.

More Sandstone Tunnel

The tunnel continues to run in an east-west direction here, as do the many small footprints in the dirt floor. Long furrows show that a number of things have been dragged through here as well.

Guard Post

This is the end of a large chamber off the main cavern to the south partially carved out of the dominant sandstone rock of the area. A completely artificial tunnel leaves to the east. A table and chairs have been set in the very middle of the chamber, all of which are the right size for a gnome or kobold. Torches set into crude sconces provide light.

Vaulting Cavern

This is the north end of the kobolds' main cavern. The natural rock ceiling extends almost out of sight far above, as do the cavern's walls off to both the east and west. Small hollows have been formed out of the walls while crude sleeping pallets and tents have been set up in a random, hap-hazard manner. Few, however, look like they have been used recently, making one wonder what happened to what was once an obviously large tribe.

Northeastern Corner of the Main Cavern

The main cavern comes to an end here, with a small alcove leading off to the east. Many sleeping pallets, tents, and hollowed out spaces in the rock walls show that this area was once used as a living area for the tribe, but looks as though it has not been used much in the past few weeks. One reason for this could be the strong, horrible reek of sewage that gets stronger as one gets closer to the eastern alcove.

Northwestern Corner of the Main Cavern

The main cavern ends here, with a small passage extending off to the west. Hollows in the walls and crude tents scattered over the dirt floor show that this area was once used as a sleeping and living area. Considering how few tents and hollows there are, the area was never very popular. However, it seems to be even less popular now, seeing as how it appears not to have been used in weeks. For some reason, the kobolds have been avoiding this area.

Center of the Main Cavern

Mounted in the very center of this huge cavern is a stone dais, with an over-sized throne made of sandstone resting upon it facing south. Crude scenes depicting kobolds ambushing and killing gnomes have been etched into most every flat surface of both the throne and dais, though a few showing an ogre-sized kobold teaching other kobolds how to ambush and kill gnomes also appear quite often. The area immediately surrounding the dais appears well traveled, but not a single tent or sleeping pallet has been set up near it. Long poles with torches atop them have been set into a circle surrounding the dais and provide light to the entire cavern.

East Wall of the Main Cavern

This is the eastern edge of the main cavern. It has a great number of sleeping hollows carved from the east wall as well as tents thrown about. Few seem to have been used recently, though. Most of the kobold tracks in this area are larger than what are seen in the rest of the main cavern, and lead to a large unnatural tunnel carved into the east wall.

Waste Pit

The smell is nearly unbearable here with fumes coming from a large pit dug in the middle of the chamber nearly bringing tears to your eyes. One look into the pit shows that the kobold tribe probably has been using this alcove as their sewer for generations.

Deep in the Pit

Those beings that actually enjoy swimming in raw sewage, without the benefit of a huge amount of water to dilute it, would certainly have fun here, since that is exactly what fills this pit. The stench visibly rises up through the soft, gently swaying globules of various types of "waste" that mingle here, the fumes becoming bubbles whenever water, or some other liquid, is encountered.

Vaulting Passageway

The passage's ceiling rises high above here, meshing with the huge cavern just to the south. The rough sandstone walls, however, are quite close together. In fact, this must have been a natural alcove at one point, before the tunnel to the north was carved out making this the main passage-way into the kobolds' caverns.

Ill-kept Guard Post

Little more than a small off-shoot of the main cavern to the east, this chamber appears to have seen very little use of late. A small table and a pair of chairs have been set up in the center of the room, but most of the footprints lead to two sleeping hollows in the west wall, with a smaller set leading towards and from a tunnel to the north. Crude sconces set into the walls hold the torches providing light to this area.

Western Wall of the Main Cavern

This is the western edge of the main cavern and ends in a very solid sandstone wall. Small hollows have been etched from the wall and appear to be used as sleeping areas, as are the many crude tents strewn about. In all, this is one of the more active areas of the cavern.

Little Used Passageway

This tunnel has a gradual downward slope to the north and makes a transition from the orangish sandstone rock prevalent in the rest of the caverns to a somber, gray stone. The thick layer of dirt covering the floor remains the same though, and has a few sets of footprints, all of which look as if they were made by the same pair of feet, small even for a kobold.

Dusty Passage

Carved from a strange, hard gray stone, this tunnel slopes downward from the south and makes a sharp turn west. The air is both cool and humid here, a refreshing change from the aridness of the upper caverns. A few sets of kobold footprints are to be found in the dirt floor here, as is an often used sleeping hollow in the east wall.

Glowing Pool

This is a chamber formed naturally out of a somber gray stone with beads of water trickling down the walls. A soft, soothing lapping comes from a pool of water in the very center of the room as do shimmering patterns of light reflected by the gentle waves in the pool's surface which splash beautifully over the rock walls and ceiling. In all, a most soothing effect. However, there is almost no clue as to what is producing the light at the bottom of the pool, though sometimes a faint shadow can be seen passing by far below. The only apparent exit is a tunnel sloping up towards the east.

Southwestern Corner of the Main Cavern

The main cavern's south and west walls meet here, though a large alcove does extend into the south wall and a small passage to the west (faintly smelling of wood-smoke) leads to another set of caves. The immediate area is littered with the kobold equivalent of cheap tables and chairs: large flat rocks surrounded by small flat rocks.

South Wall of the Main Cavern

This is the southern edge of the main cavern. A large, natural passageway extends into the wall going south. This area has been given over to living quarters for kobold females and their young, though it doesn't seem to be as well used as it once was.

The Nursery

A large alcove off the main cavern to the north, this appears to be where the kobolds keep their very young. Simple pictures have been etched into the rock walls showing many kobolds going about everyday activities: males hunting for food, ambushing enemies, and guarding the caves while females cook, clean, and care for the young. Cruder and more recent pictures have been carved into the south wall by a child, showing some bearded humanoids being thrown into a pit to be munched by a gigantic kobold.

Cooking Area

This fairly roomy cave obviously serves as a kitchen considering the large number of clay pots, plates, and mugs covering most of the shelves and tables. And an even better indication is the huge oven set in the north wall, easily big enough to accommodate a half-giant, if the kobolds were lucky enough to catch one. The main cavern can be seen through a small passage to the east, while two natural caves can be found to the south and west, respectively. Light spills in from each of these areas also.

Southeastern Corner of Main Cavern

The east and south walls of the main cavern meet here, though a small natural passageway does extend into the south wall. This area, though not being used as a sleeping area, seems to be extremely popular given all the tracks through here. Most of the traffic seems to go to and from the small passage to the south.

Guard Post

A smaller, natural off-shoot of the main cavern to the north, this cave has been converted into a guard post restricting passage to the caves found to the south. A simple wooden table and chairs have been set up in the middle of the cave for the comfort of the guards. Crude sconces mounted on the walls hold a few torches, the smoke from them staining the walls a somber black.

Rock Hallway

This is the northern end of a small cavern that serves as a hallway between the main cavern to the north and the caves to the west and further south. Further, it must have seen some action as a training area from the signs of combat found lying about, though no one is using it as such at the moment. Torches mounted atop long poles have been placed in the thick dirt of the floor, providing light as well as obstacles for trainees.

Main Barracks

This is a natural sandstone cave modified to the kobolds' purposes. The many sleeping alcoves carved into the walls, with handholds for those that need to get into the upper alcoves, show that this chamber is used as a barracks. The only furniture to be found, however, are large flat rocks left in the center of the cave, used as tables and chairs. Simple torches light the room from their sconces.

Rock Hallway

This is the southern end of a small cavern used as a hallway by the kobolds. Small, natural caves lie to both the west and south. This area appears to have been used, along with the northern part, as a training ground of sorts, though no one is using it as such at the moment. More long poles with torches light this area as well.

Officers' Quarters

Little more than a small cave, this room appears to be the sleeping area for no more than two kobolds. Simple sleeping pallets, a wooden table, and a couple chairs are the sum total of the furniture to be found here. Anything else that the room's inhabitants own probably just ends up thrown into a corner or dropped on the floor. A simple lantern hangs by a chain from the center of the ceiling, showing just how much of a mess this place is.

Weaponmaster's Quarters

This small alcove off the cavern to the north serves as quarters to a single kobold, as shown by the one sleeping pallet set against the west wall. A table has been set up in front of the door in the south wall with a crude chalkboard showing tallies for some unknown purpose set upon it. An iron lantern, suspended by a metal chain from the ceiling, provides the area with enough light to work by.

The Armory

A huge number of hooks, pegs, and shelves cram the walls of this tiny room. However, very few items hang or sit on those pegs and shelves. The only other feature of this room is a bronze door fitted into the north wall.

Guards' Room

Roughly hewn from the natural rock, this room serves as a guard post restricting traffic going through the tunnel to the east. Unlike most of the tracks found in the main cavern to the west, the ones found here are extremely large (relatively), as are the wooden table and chairs set up in the middle of the room. Several crude sconces in the walls hold smoking torches, making the air a little abrasive to breathe.

Rock Hallway

This large, unnaturally carved hallway seems to get quite a bit of traffic through it by some extremely large kobolds, considering the tracks in the dirt floor. Most of the traffic goes west towards the main cavern or south to a large chamber. The hallway does continue east though, and a small chamber lies to the north. Light spills in from all four directions.

Captain's Room

Carved from the orangish-brown sandstone, this small room obviously serves as quarters to one large and very important kobold. A cot stretched on a couple wooden rods set into the west wall serves as a bed, and various hooks, shelves, and nooks give enough places for this kobold to place his belongings, almost all of which are weapons or tools used to care for his weapons. An iron lantern suspended by a chain hangs from the very center of the ceiling and seems as free of dust as everything else in this room, making it gleam even more brightly.

The Guardsmans' Barracks

This large stone chamber has a series of long flat rocks going down the center of the room from north to south, serving as tables. Along all the walls but the north are leather cots on wooden poles set into the walls themselves. This definitely serves as a barracks, and considering the size of the footprints in the dirt floor, all of the tribe's largest warriors are housed here. Smoke from the many torches set into the walls conceals the ceiling.

Carved Hallway

Carved from the natural sandstone, this hallway extends west towards the main cavern and east towards a dark and little used section. Fitted into the north wall is a wooden door with strange, rude symbols drawn upon it. Unlike most of the things the kobolds have built, this door seems to fit into the doorway perfectly. A pair of torches set into the wall flank the door and burn a furious red.

The Shaman's Room

This room's walls are entirely covered in intricately carved sketches from kobold mythology. It must have taken many generations for this room's inhabitants to put so much detail in the mutilation of bearded humanoids, not to mention all of the glorious deeds kobold gods have done that don't concern ambushing other species. A small shrine with faint trails of smoke and a rosy glow hanging about it rests against the north wall, while an actual bed, complete with blanket and pillow, lies against the west wall.

Dusty Hallway

Carved from the natural sandstone and worn a bit with age, this hallway continues into more often used parts of the caverns to the east. But here there has been little to no traffic, as shown by the lack of footprints in the dirt floor. Which is surprising considering the well made door fitted into the south wall.

The Former King's Room

Dusty from disuse, the room features a very well made wooden door (for kobolds) in the north wall and a large stone throne carved out of the south wall. Various pieces of wooden furniture lie scattered about, broken and unused. Most of the trophies they once supported (bones, ears, and broken weapons of former challengers to kobold glory) also lie scattered, covered by thick layers of dust. Only a red tapestry on the east wall depicting an ogre-sized kobold with a barbed tail killing an army of gnomes seems to be in decent condition.

The Treasury

This is no more than a hole in the rock made by some ancient kobold king as a place to put his valuables. Latter generations added little shelves and pedestals to show off their prized possessions. But very little adorns this room now, and most of what little furniture there was has been dashed to pieces and scattered about the room.

Cook's Room

This small natural cave is dominated by a large wooden table set in the very center of the floor. Various cooking items (i.e. pots, pans, dead rats, etc.) have been spread upon its surface. The cavern's main cooking area lies to the north while a small door has been fitted over a passage to the south. A candle, smelling of burnt lard, sits in the middle of the table, casting a yellow glow on the room.

The Pantry

This is a small room with a crude door set into the north wall. Many shelves have been fitted into the rock walls with dozens of clay pots and jars lining them. Unfortunately, most of the jars are empty, while the others contain some sort of colorful mold.

Butcher's Room

A very large but short wooden table dominates this small cave, leaving only a few feet on each side for one to walk around. The surface of the table has been scored by many cuts and stained with blood and who knows what other substances. A small passage east gives access to the cavern's main cooking area while a dark hole in the north wall appears to be where unwanted refuse is thrown by the looks of the blood stains and meaty bits surrounding it. A slightly less disgusting door is set into the south wall. A large torch set into the west wall provides light to work by, as well as a pall of smoke to keep insects away.

Meat Locker

This small chamber seems to have been dug out from the natural sandstone and had a door set into the north wall. Dozens of bronze hooks have been suspended from the ceiling by ropes, allowing the dead rats, birds, and other poor animals hanging from them to stay off the dusty floor. The air is rancid with the smell of congealed blood and the buzzing of flies.

Garbage Disposal

This small natural cave reeks with the smell of rat, with the less powerful scent of garbage and dead meat highlighting it. The obvious source of the reek is the pile of trash making up the south wall. It seems that there was once a passage through it, but it has been filled and compacted by trash, effectively sealing it. A hole lies to the south.

In the Huge Oven

Removable metal bars have been set just a few feet over a floor covered in cold ashes, on level with the oven door making up the south wall. The rest of the stone oven is filthy with soot, though a few streaks of white from bird droppings give the place some color (and the food some flavor). A natural rock chimney rises into darkness above you.

Chimney Shaft

Black soot covers every square inch of this natural rock chimney, with enough left over to be suspended in the air that both breathing and climbing are made extremely difficult, not to mention unenjoyable. The shaft seems to widen a bit, both above and below.

Widening in the Chimney Shaft

The rock chimney widens slightly here, giving one a bit more room to breathe. However, the walls are not only covered in thick black soot, but also have had unnaturally large webs strung over them. Apparently, something has taken advantage of the extra space here.

Near The Top

The walls of the rock chimney aren't nearly as black with soot here, leaving only streaks of black instead of entire flakes of it. A stiff wind blowing over the top of the chimney just above also helps, making the air in here more breathable. Unfortunately, large white marks make it obvious that some birds make the area above the chimney their home.

Crows' Nest

This is a rather small ledge attached to a rock spire soaring high above you. The ledge is made smaller by the presence of an over-sized bird's nest taking up most of the base of the ledge. The view is spectacular, allowing an uninterrupted look of the surrounding Stonelands, as well as the canyon floor hundreds of feet below. The only safe exit is a natural rock chimney found at the base of both the ledge and nest.

Small, Well-Used Passage

This small natural passage curves gradually, connecting the main cavern to the north with another cavern with a vaulting roof that lies to the east. The vast number of tracks through here indicate that it gets a great deal of traffic. A single torch, set into the curve of the west wall, makes the shadows dance as it smolders.

Vaulting Chamber

This is the western end of a natural sandstone cavern with a sandy dirt floor and a vaulting roof far above. Thick wooden planks have been set up in rows, probably serving as benches, allowing part of the tribe to sit here and watch the activities at the altar on the far eastern edge of this cavern. The walls have been carved to show some of the grand deeds done by a gigantic kobold wielding a man-sized spear, paying special attention to how he has raised kobolds into godhood after they committed particularly valiant things, such as assassinating a gnome king. The torches set into the walls between each scene illuminate just how such acts were done.

Middle of a Vaulting Chamber

This is the middle of a natural sandstone cavern with a sandy dirt floor and vaulting roof far above. Thick wooden planks have been set up in rows to allow part of the tribe to sit and view the activities at the altar rising just to the east. Some work has been done to the walls in this area recently, apparently changing the main figure carved into the frescos there. What was once a gigantic kobold with a man-sized spear is now being shaped to resemble a huge man with rotting flesh and elven ears more fond of eating his foes than stabbing them in the back. Set between each pair of frescos is a torch, their flickering flames seeming to make the figures move.

The High Shrine to Kurtulmak

This part of the cavern has been shaped into a raised altar to the one, great kobold god, Kurtulmak. A statue of him takes up most of the eastern wall and overshadows the stone altar used for sacrifices in his name. However, his statue has recently been modified as the kobolds have begun to make him look more like an elf with rotting flesh hanging from his bones, but normal kobold scales underneath. Finally, what appears to be a well with a stone lid has been dug into the rock before the raised dais of the altar, though the bloodstains and scattered bits of hair and skin around it show that it is not being used to draw water anymore. A pair of large torches, set atop long poles, flank the well and show these morbid details far too well.

A Dark Well

This circular shaft, dug deep into the dark gray rock, looks a great deal like a well, albeit a well leading to dangers that make the kobolds above seem like bosom friends. For, whether or not it was first used as one, it now has other uses, as shown by the streaks of blood and stray bits of hair and skin that are to be found on the walls. Hand and foot holds have been carved into the sides of the shaft, but are made treacherous by the moisture beading upon the walls, especially since the bottom cannot yet be seen.

A Dark Well

A deep shaft dug into dark grey stone, these walls are slick with moisture, making the hand and foot holds treacherous. When one looks closely, stray bits of skin, hair, and blood can be seen on random outcroppings of rock, showing just how treacherous the handholds are. Or that someone didn't have the benefit of looking for them on the way down. Still, a sense of impending danger hits you, giving warning of things that make the dangers above seem like child's play in comparison.

Dank Cavern

A loud dripping echos throughout this small, dark cave. Puddles dot the stone floor, many of which have helped clean some of the humanoid bones to be found in almost every corner of the chamber. Most still have strips of meat upon them, showing that whatever killed these goblins, elves, and humans did so recently and ate most of the remains. A small cave leads off to the west and there's a small crack in the wall to the east. The ground slopes gently down towards both. There is also a circular hole in the rock ceiling, though getting to it would be difficult to do by climbing.

A Small Crack in the Wall

Simply put, this is a huge crack in the rock barely big enough for a couple people to stand in at once. The ground is bare rock and seems to have been swept clean by a flood of water lately, with the water probably following the downward slope to the east where the crack gets smaller but seems to go on forever. However, this place has seen some activity lately, as shown by the bloodstains on the wall and marks on the floor which you can guess were made by fingernails. Someone was definitely dragged out of here against their will.

Damp and Dark Passage

A small passageway which has obviously been dug out from the rock and is not natural, this place is loud with the dripping of water. In fact, water covers the floor, starting at barely an inch deep in the east and sloping downward to the west where it is nearly a foot deep. A hole has been dug into the western wall leading to some sort of chamber.

Stone Burial Chamber

This is a small burial chamber finely carved from the natural dark gray stone. A stone coffin lies in the very center of the room, its lid barely above the nearly three feet of standing water covering the floor. A rough hole has been hacked in the east wall while what was once a stone door in the west wall now lies in pieces strewn across the floor, much as if something broke in. The walls are obscured by shadows, but something about them tends to catch one's eye.

Stonework Intersection

This is a somber stone hallway that continues both north and south, with a pair of doorways flanking it to the east and west. Only the occasional patch of moss mars the smooth surfaces of the walls and ceiling, which have been finely carved from the natural, dark gray stone. However, water standing nearly three feet deep covers the floor in every direction, making the place echo with strange noises coming from unknown sources.

Spartan Burial Chamber

This somber burial chamber has a strange aura about it. The walls are exquisitely carved with figures that draw one's eye, showing a sea-elf warrior's deeds. Yet, a sixth sense warns that a terrible evil has rested here for centuries. The air actually stinks of it. Another indication of this is that the remains of the broken stone door all lie outside the room, as if something broke out of here, not in.

Blocked Hallway

The dark stone hallway ends here as a wall of fallen rocks completely blocking passage to the south. Most of that wall has been covered by a layer of opportunistic moss, right down to where the standing water laps up against it.

Stonework Hallway

This is a hallway finely carved from the natural gray stone. The walls and ceiling are very smooth with only the random patch of moss or lichen relieving their oppressive features. The floor is covered by nearly three feet of standing water, and remains so in both directions.

Warrior's Burial Chamber

This is a burial chamber, much like the others to be found nearby, well made from the natural stone and with about three feet of standing water covering the floor, nearly coming to the top of the coffin lying in the center of the room. The bas-reliefs carved into the walls tell the tale of a great sea-elf warrior, one with bulging muscles that far outstripped the strength of the sahuagin and dead sailors she fought. Alas, the carvings are incomplete since someone or something has crudely chipped away at them, turning battles to the death into battles of a far more disgusting nature considering what the sea elf was fighting.

Undisturbed Burial Chamber

Strangely, the water in this room seems less murky than the water that can be seen just outside the door in the hallway. Perhaps it is only a trick of the light, or maybe it has something to do with the feeling of peace and serenity that you felt upon entering this small burial chamber. On the walls are bas-reliefs, stunningly carved to show the deeds of a sea-elf, probably the person interred in the stone coffin lying in the center of the room. It could very well be due to his spirit that this chamber has gone completely untouched by the undead roaming the rest of this area.

Nearly three feet of standing water covers the floor, and does so in both directions. The constant echos one hears in this place get stronger to the north, where a large chamber appears to open up.

South Side of Main Chamber

A large chamber made out of dark gray, worked stone stretches out to the north, with a small hallway exiting to the south. The floor, covered by nearly three feet of standing water, is slick with algae. Carved in bas-relief are a pair of elven warriors, flanking the doorway to the south. Perhaps even guarding it.

Southeastern Corner of Main Chamber

This is the corner of a huge worked stone chamber, one obviously meant to honor sea-elves that died in the service of their king. Though partially obscured by the water, it would appear that the bas-reliefs of warriors carved into the walls are, in fact, lids of tombs for the honorably dead.

Center of the Main Chamber

This would seem to be the very center of a large chamber made out of some dark gray stone. Doorways can be distantly seen in all directions except the north, where lies a raised platform shrouded in darkness. The floor here remains covered in water, making the entire place echo with its occasional lapping against the walls.

East Side of Main Chamber

This is the eastern end of a huge stone chamber. The east wall is lined by bas-reliefs of sea-elven warriors, and even though the bottoms are obscured by the water covering the floor, it appears that each one is different. Then, upon closer scrutiny, it becomes clear that they are the covers for tombs set into the wall with the bas-reliefs showing how each warrior looked during life. However, the line is broken up by a doorway leading to another, smaller stone chamber to the east.

Raised Platform

Short steps lead up from the south, east, and west, allowing one to easily climb on top of this raised stone platform. A stone sarcophagus dominates the center of the floor, the bas-relief of a sea-elven king carved into its lid. Two alcoves have been set into the north wall flanking the sarcophagus, but they are empty except for the pieces of blue coral scattered within them and about the floor. And finally, though this is the only place within sight that is not covered by water, you still find yourself strangely chilled. Perhaps it is the lingering presence of a being that would love nothing more than to suck the marrow from your bones.

Northeastern Corner of Main Chamber

This is the corner of a huge worked stone chamber, one obviously meant to honor a fallen king and the sea-elves that died in his service. The stone lids of the tombs of many of those elves line the walls, cunningly fashioned to look like their inhabitants. A platform high enough to stand free of the water filling most of the chamber lies to the west.

Northwestern Corner of Main Chamber

This is the corner of a huge worked stone chamber, one obviously meant to honor a fallen king and the sea-elves that died in his service. The stone lids of the tombs of many of those elves line the walls, cunningly free of the water filling most of the chamber lies to the east. fashioned to look like their inhabitants. A platform high enough to stand

Destroyed Shrine

This small stone chamber, filled with the usual three feet of water, was once a shrine. Who it was a shrine to is unknown, however, since all the stone frescos and what might have been an altar standing against the east wall have been destroyed. Piles of rock are scattered about the entire room. Whatever did this must have been extremely strong, extremely patient, or both.

Defiled Altar

This small stone chamber is filled with water standing at least three feet deep, just like most of the rest of this level. But here, that water holds far more than algae. Floating around are several body parts, most of which are missing a great deal of meat, as though something chewed them up and threw the left-overs in here. The walls of the room haven't fared much better. Frescos of a sea-elf god riding a dolphin have been covered in blood, bile, and other bodily substances, as has an altar to that god standing against the west wall.

Blocked Intersection

The dark stone hallway ends here in a wall of fallen rocks where the ceiling gave out, completely blocking passage to the north. Most of that wall has been covered by a layer of moss, going right down to where the three feet of standing water laps up against it. The hallway does continue to the south though, and a pair of stone doors flank you to the east and west, respectively.

Magician's Burial Chamber

This small burial chamber is dominated by a stone coffin lying in the very center of the room, its lid barely above the level of water filling this area. The walls have been exquisitely carved, showing the deeds of some sea-elf, probably the person interred here. A simple stone door to the west is the only exit.

Mystic's Burial Chamber

This small burial chamber is dominated by a stone coffin lying in the very center of the room, its lid barely above the level of water filling this area. The walls have been exquisitely carved, showing the deeds of some sea-elf, probably the person interred here. A plain stone door to the east is the only exit.

Stonework Hallway

This is a hallway finely carved from the natural dark gray stone. The walls and ceiling are very smooth and only the random patch of moss or lichen relieves their oppressive features. The floor is covered by nearly three feet of standing water, and continues to do so in both directions.

Huntsman's Burial Chamber

This small burial chamber is dominated by a stone coffin lying in the very center of the room, its lid barely above the level of water filling this area. The walls have been exquisitely carved, showing the deeds of some sea-elf, probably the person interred here. A simple stone door to the west is the only exit.

Knight's Burial Chamber

This small burial chamber is dominated by a stone coffin lying in the very center of the room, its lid barely above the level of water filling this area. The walls have been exquisitely carved, showing the deeds of some sea-elf, probably the person interred here. A simple stone door to the east is the only exit.

Stonework Intersection

This is a somber stone hallway that continues both north and south, with a pair of thick stone doors flanking it to the east and west. Only the occasional patch of moss mars the smoothness of the walls and ceiling, finely carved from the natural dark gray stone. Nearly three feet of water, covers the floor, making passage difficult and cold.

Sentry Post

This is a hallway finely carved from the natural, dark gray stone. The floor is covered by nearly three feet of standing water, and continues to do so in both directions. The walls and ceiling are very smooth, and aside from the random patch of moss or lichen, the only relief in their uniform features are a pair of man-sized alcoves opposite each other in the east and west walls.

Former Entrance to the Tomb

The stone hallway ends here at a large pair of bronze doors. They have apparently been welded shut and fitted so well into the doorway as to be air-tight. Otherwise, this room appears very much like the rest of the hallway, which leads north.

Steep Gulch

This path, though dry as a bone now, was formed by a sudden flooding, with water rushing between the rocky hills to either side. This draw rises sharply southward towards bare rock cliffs and hills, while to the north is a little used trail winding through the Stonelands. But it seems that this area has been getting a bit more traffic of late considering the large number of small footprints you see in the dirt floor of this gulch. They are definitely humanoid, yet appear too "doggish" to have been made by goblins, even if they are of similar size.

In a Rock Spire

Though carved from sandstone, this appears to be a very comfortable room with wooden beams supporting the ceiling and walls. The floor is wooden, with many Southwestern style throw rugs placed on it, one by each window, table, chair, and a very large one with a huge turquoise design in front of the stuffed leather couch. The view out the windows is magnificent as they look onto the surrounding stonelands and even the city of Lordaeron just south of a swath of green forest. The only drawbacks are the cackle of crows and a plume of smoke, both originating from the base of the rock spire this room has been hollowed out from.
