Jewelcrafting
In the game: help craft
craft <piece> (at a forge: "craft copper ring")
professions jewelcrafting (the Professions window, on Jewelcrafting)
A jeweler makes earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces and eyewear from a little of the ore Mining digs and the gems it now and then turns up. You work at a forge, as a smith does: the smithies of Daleville (Bronn Selgard's), Essembra, Meadow Creek, Lordaeron, Port Mir, Unicorn Run and Menzoberanzan have one. A piece takes four seconds; moving, a fight or another command stops it. Like every profession, you learn by doing it (see PROFESSIONS).
Each tier makes five pieces from its two ores and its common gem, and two finer ones that need its rare gem as well. Tiers 1 to 4 can be worn from level 1, so a seasoned jeweler can outfit a new character; tier 5 from level 35 and tier 6 from level 43. Every piece fetches a good price: any shop that buys weapons or armor will buy every smithed or crafted piece, jewelry too, at its usual rate, however little gold it has. Pieces that only add to hit, damage, hit points, mana, movement or armor are plain metal, so barbarians can wear them; those that give a sight or a skill are magic.
