In the game: help map

The Map pane has two maps.

Your zone: the zone you are in, room by room in 3D, with you marked. Double-click a room to walk there (see SPEEDWALK). Zoom out past the zone to reach the world map.

The world map: every zone, where it lies and the levels of its monsters. Drag it to move it and zoom with the wheel, or show it as a list by level. Point at a zone to pick out the zones it leads to; click a zone, or the white sphere of an exit into it, to see its map.

The world map's 3D view shows every room you have explored, in every zone, each on its own floor: drag to turn and tilt it, right-drag to move it, and zoom with the wheel. Colour it by levels, districts or terrain, show only the ground, above or below it, and tick Labels for the zones' names. Double-click a room to open its zone's map there.

The maps show only what you have explored: the rooms any character of your account has been in, their exits, and the rooms those lead to as grey ghosts. A zone none of your characters has set foot in shows nothing until you explore it (the list shows it in grey). Secret exits appear once you have been on both sides. Daleville and the Hearthstead are on every map from the start, every street and house.

Ctrl+M opens the map. The map takes no keys of its own: whatever you type goes to the command line, even just after you clicked on the map (a full-screen map steps back into its pane so you can see the line). Walk with the numeric keypad from anywhere (see KEYS), by double-clicking a room, or by typing directions; zoom with the mouse wheel or the + and - buttons.
