Usage
In the game: help usage
In the help file most entries have a usage explanation. The part with <> should be replaced by the actual target, item, or whatever you want.
Example
In 'help kill' it says 'Usage: kill <target>'
If you want to kill a rat, you would type 'kill rat' NOT 'kill <rat>.'
